GOD SAVES US
by ashwin chandrasekhar on Aug 27, 2009 06:54 PM  | Hide replies

he proposed F1 race does not satisfy conditions which focus on human endeavour for excelling in competition with others, keeping in view the whole sports movement from Olympics [ Images ] downwards"

THAT COMMENT SHOWS THE LEVEL OF ILLITERACY PREVALENT AMONG AMOUNG OUR MINISTERS .

DOES HE KNOW THAT

1.AFTER FOOTBALL WORLD CUP, THE MOST WATCHED EVENT IN THE WORLDS IS F1. [AND F1 IS AN YEARLY EVENT NOT LIKE FOOTBALL ,ONCE IN 4YRS ]

2.FORMULA 1 HAS MORE THAN 100YRS HISTORY ,AND TALKING ABOUT COMPETITION .....HAAA GIVE ME A BREAK MAN !!!.
THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION IN F1,... CRICKET AND FOOTBALL IS A CHILD'S TEA CAKE PARTY COMPARED TO F1. EVEN SACHIN AGREES ON THAT , HE IS A AVID F1 FAN,WATCHES ALL THE RACES ,AND ALWAYS GOES FOR THE ITALIAN MONZA GP.

NO WONDER WE A COUNTRY OF A BILLION STILL IS A JOKE COMPARED TO CHINA OR OTHERS IN OLYMPICS MEDAL TALLY.
ONLY THING THESE IIDIOT MINISTERS FIND SPORTING IS CRICKET ....AND EVEN IN THAT TOO ....ITS NOW 25 YRS SINCE WE WON A WORLD CUP .

ITS HIGH TIME YOUTH TAKE OVER THE ADMINSTRATION OF THIS COUNTRY ...OR ELSE WE WILL BE A JOKE FOR LOT MANY YRS TO COME .

another race course for rich and famous to make money ????

dude this is not horse racing!!

The people involved in f1 are not only born rich people...and big companies with crores to invest,... but there are also the most brillaint minds ,the genius engineers to race mechanics ...to the offsite people working behind the car development. and these are guys like you and me,but they are smart and inteeligent ...so they have reached those level...and are very rich,so what ? no one is doing anything illegal or getting bribes like our mimisters ?

You have got it all wrong Rajesh. The government has not declined to provide funds. It is just not allowing a private company (Indian) to convert Rs. into $ so that it can pay the fee to host F1.

F1 racing

I think, next to foot ball, the best sports viewed worldwide is F1 racing. Except this hyped narain karthikeyan we dont hv good gamers to lead this sport. Indian grand prix should b strengthened. Sports ministry should develop F1 racing. F1 racing track can b developed in TN, an ideal place.

Yes, Formula 1 is an amazing event. One needs to have a look at the precision and the amount of research and importance that goes into each and every single component on the car as well the other logistics and the team as a whole. Its simply amazing and its quite sad that we wont get a chance to see a Indian Grand Prix in the near future. Am not sure if Mr.VJM is involved in this at the moment or not, if he gets in, he will make sure he gets it done.. ;-)

The government made the right decision
by Sunil Jit on Aug 27, 2009 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

The governmet is right. I will add another reason for keeping F1 out of India: F1 is not environment friendly, and is never going to be. We allowed Harley Davidson in, which was another stupid decision, but atleast we got permission to export mangoes to the USA in return. From India's point of view F1 will not make Indian manufacturers any better. Its just a money spinning business. The companies that make people and environment friendly cars or in other words, the cars of the future rarely finish in the top 5 in a F1 race. So why bother to bring it to India.

A nation that does not know what road quality is and how to build good roads cannot appreciate F1. This is a nation of mediocre people run by mediocre reserved candidates. Leave them in their potholes.

the very name you had choosen to write a message here shows what a useless jerk you are...not even 1% of indians watch F1 leave alone liking it...its only an urban phenomena eulogized by pseudo indians like you...we dont need a F1 track...we need good roads first....and learn to appreciate your country instead of getting frustrated and shitting here and then...

I'm an F1 fan and watch the race regularly. But, I do feel 200 Cr to bring F1 is not a good idea.

Bringing in F1 will not improve road condition or the quality of cars available. It will be driven by demand (car) and what you ask your MLA/MP when he comes knocking for your Vote.

They dont even know what good roads are and are satisfied with such mediocre roads what they will appreciate F1. Probably they dont know the difference between this F1 and the F1 key on their keyboards.

Its obvious that someone is refusing to pay off the sports ministry officials. Thats why they are coming up with such ridiculous comments. Once the money is paid, watch out for a different tune. Sick.
