Another tournament conquered, congrats to Federer. You deserved it considering your performance for the whole week.
good luck for us open and everyone will be hoping for you to winning the 16th GS title. now you need not worry about nadal, since others are there to take care of him before he can reach even quaterfinals. so just march ahead conquer another GS title.

Federer is great and so are few of others
by Gaurav Mathur on Aug 24, 2009 09:38 PM

I am a die hard fan of FEDERER and prayed for him when he was down. But folks, why hurl abuses at other players like Nadal, Djoker or even Murray. They all are awesome talents that the tennis history has ever seen, young ambitious, consistent etc. However, this will def. will be remembered as Federer era and to some extent Nadal (esp. for his clay clourt expertise and to some extent stopping Fedex...though he was not in best of health). Players like Hewitt, Roddick, and other former no. 1 players, even Nada, Djoker and Murray will say 15 years from now that had Federer not played in our era, we would have double the number of Grand slams and Master events. But that does not make them inferior...anyone who wins slams or Mater series for that matter is a TALENT without doubt. Just think, of all the men who have ever played professional tennis, how many have reached semi-finals or finals, let alone win a slam or a master series. Nadal, Djoker, Murray and few others who have done this are great players and talented...so let's respect them and enjoy this season. Don't you guys enjoy when it is nail biting finish and Federer wins...it gives amazing thrill and this thrill comes bcoz other players play well. So sit back and enjoy tennis with so many talents all together at their peak.

I watched Novak play Nadal WELL WELL Well That was an exciting and enlightening match. Nadal started off bouncing the ball 17 times touching himself all over the place. Half way through his actions before serving were down to the minimum. He seemed to be in shock I was. novak played like a total champion I am sure he is an excellent candidate to become #1,Novack was wonderful. No excuses for Nadal .I was cheering Novack such play it was wonderful to watch. The commentators who I try to listen to very very infrequently as they have been constantly talking about the match they supposed was next between Federer and Nadal. They are so negative .Next just watched Federer Novack match. These are the two gentleman of tennis. The match seemed to be sort of relaxing .Even though it was for the championship it was great to watch the two of them level each other out.

Federer is always best........
by Anurag Rathore on Aug 24, 2009 02:33 PM  | Hide replies

There was a 1 year period when people were claiming 'Nadal era'. They were saying when Murray, Djonkovic, Nadal came Federer magic has gone. He was only winning because he didn't face any competition. Now when he has won 3 GS in his last 4 in presence of above players including French Open, What will they say? The best thing about his victory is that he is not on his peak. Just imagine what level player he is! As I claimed after last year Wimbledon Nadal can't hold his number 1 position so long, some peple were luaghing on me but noe I am laughing on them.

During yesterdays final, 6th game of 2nd set; fedex was serving and finished in 45 seconds. 3 aces and one serve walley combination !!!! Commentators were commenting that Nadal must have taken 45 seconds between 2 serves !!!!

You are laughing at yourself.Nadal is unfit and Fedex is winning in his abscence. He would never have won the French in Nadal's presence, same for Wimby.Enjoy it while it lasts.I see, your stupid predictions continue to make you laughing stock, like you shot off your mouth predicting Aussie win in the Ashes.Learn to keep your mouth shut when you dont have a clue.

Actually nadal is very gud but Federer is gr8. Nadal is having a power game and federer have classic. Power diminishes with time but class is permanent. Thers is no comparison between the two players. Dont forget that in French open final federer ruthlessly defeated soderling who had reached there by outclassing nadal in quarters. Injury is never an excuse as federer also lost to Djokovic last year's Aus open semis as he just recovered from illness. Butin the same tournament nadal was defeated by Tsonga being completely fit. Nadal can never stand nowhere near to Federer. And when the Federer era will last the tally of records against his name would be untouchable for nadal.

hi..nadal was never fit to reach US open final so far?he is 1005 fit now..once in a blue moon he reached hard court finals, more over we always mentioned that his style is not suitable for long last.now he is fit, but again he will get injury very soon, that is the different between real skill vs hard work.(fed vs nadal)

When I said Nadal can't hold number 1 position for long I clearly mentioned about his fitness and injury prone game. But as you don't know about cricket, you also don't know what is injury prone game.

What about my other predictions!
Like Aussies decline in cricket what I told 1 year back. That time everybody was talking about their bench strength. Where were you that time. My prediction about NZ tour. My prediction about Aus tour in India and Eng tour in India, my prediction about India tour in Srilanka and Westindies......

Why are you not mentioning about that.

He has won 3 of his last 4 Grand Slams in the presence of above players, including French open?Get your facts straight. He won only the US Open in the presence of Nadal, without facing him, and the one he lost he lost to Nadal. Now agsin, an unfit Nadal is proving a boon to him.Dont advertise your stupidity in public, lil boy.

You use a foolish logic to counter the argument...
Is it Federer's fault if Nadal loses before the finals of a Grand Slam to a Soderling or Murray? Get this right buddy boy....The only people to have beaten Federer in a Grand Slam in the last 5 years have gone on to win it. And thats Nadal, Djokovic and Safin. No one has ever beaten him before a semi-final in 18 Grand Slams. Nadal doesnt only need to beat Federer to be the best but he has to dominate the rest which I think Federer has done 'consistently' for the last 5 years. 20 years down the lane Federer will be remembered for what he has achieved. Nadal wont be remembered for having a better head to head record against Federer...How often do ppl remember Lendl's and Mcenroe's head to head record? Nadal will be remembered for his consistency in the Clay courts for sure though.

Ha ha ha. Why are you not mentioning Murray and Djokovic? While I mentioned both with Nadal in my statement. What about Nadal loss against Federer just before French Open on clay court. Federer ended his winning streak on clay. Why are you not mentioning about that.

You should know who is stupid. Just read Swaroop chaterjee statement.

Federer has proved that he is the best. Though the finals win was a very hard earned one, yet he maintained his cool and went on to be the winner.
The end result counts and he did it. 15 Grand Slam titles and 16 masters title so far is no joke!

Being at the top of the game for 237 consecutive weeks is another impossible milestone to break. Playing at such high level and maintaining the fitness is not easy. He lost the number one ranking briefly due to his fitness and now that Federer is back with a vengeance.
