the marauding murray
by PUNEESH on Sep 07, 2008 10:03 AM  | Hide replies

i am really astonished to see murray play....i never thought that he has improved so much in the last 4 months or so....he was matching rafa in the court coverage and some of the shots he played like the backhand flick...it was so casual as if he was practising rather than playing a semi final matcg against the world no 1......i can surely say now....that we are witnessing a wonderful generation in which previously there were 3 top playesr gunning for each other.....but after the end of us open, there will be 4 with murray joining the party.....

terrible planning from the organisers!!
by narmada thampan on Sep 07, 2008 09:01 AM  | Hide replies

The Nadal-Murray match should have been scheduled before Federer-Djokovic since they had played their previous match a day earlier...when federer was no.1 player,he always got the privilege of playing his semi final first…and he always got the centre court. now when rafa is no.1…the situation is STILL the same…nadal is the no.1 player,he deserves to play on ashe stadium more than federer!! This is awful. Terrible planning from the organisers!!

i think u r the fool...roger federer must play in centre court..he is currently not no:1 but he is the true champion..up to this us open nadal highest qualification in us open is quarter final..i think he only deserves to play in less than amstong stadium..nadal is only the power player..no style ..totally waste..bu federer is the true true champion tennis have ever witnessed.. roger is world no: 1...rafa cannot or never maintain like federer for nearly 4 yrs...in best sportsman list federer is the second in all sports an the only player in tennis.. where is ur nadal ??? nadal sucks

Dear Karthik, don't be so emotional. No one disagrees with your statement. Unfortunately, if you go by the ATP rules and regulations, it would be clear for you that the seedings, priorities and recognitions are given not based on your past heroics, but only based on your present status. Everyone knows that Fedex is the greatest sportsman and a great ambassador for Tennis sport. The point is not that. He has consistently failed the whole of this year, losingnotonly to Djokovic and Nadal, but also to other lower ranked players. The only problem is that we are simply not able to accept his defeat. The authorities have to decide on the schedule based on the current seeding. Henceforth Nadal was scheduled to play in Ashe stadium at the prime time, but nature played the spoil sport. Just because Fedex is great, that does not mean that Nadal doesn'tdeserve the centre court ahead of Fedex. Hope you understand that and avoid making such loose statements n future.

please don't think in line of indian politics. rafa was scheduled to play in ashe stadium only. The timing was scheduled in such a way that the best timings were allotted for the no.1 player. However, the thunderstorm predictions proved it all a spoil sport. Both Murray and Nadal have gracefully accepted that prompt decision taken by the authorities, so as to enable the game progress as scheduled. its infact the wonderful planning by the organisers that we were able to see both the semifinals yesterday. its not an easy thing to reschedule a big match just like that and no one can compete with natural calamities. Stop all this rubbish talk and discuss something constructively. Let this page be an interesting one to read.

I think fedex was waiting for a long time to hand this gift to nole after the australian open. With many people doubting fed’s mono excuse for poor play, fed wanted to beat him right in front of his mom and dad(who said the king is dead) on his turf.I bet fed just loved it.great tennis. whether it’s Rafa or Murray, Roger’s in for a fight!!

Good time for tennis

Any one can win either murray, federer, nadal.Because in sport not any astrology and prediction works it depend on player skills, thinking, physical and mentle phitness and aslo forward positive thinking without any pressure and lot more on his self belife and to observed opponent weakness will make it to turn as winner. We all are so lucky to see four great player is in semis and also like to see all again and again more time. They all are great player. No one put any comment on their self and personal bcoz it happens whe u are playing sport with great sportsmanship. In this us open so many new player comes forward is good to see for tennis good features like igor andreev, sam querry, tommy robredo,al porto the new sensation in tennis. So all you have to see and enjoy the good tennis time rather give your silly comment. No one give any comment on personal level if he knows about sports and tennis.Ya but all can express their view about player skills and class. So all you enjoy the good tennis tome now.

Well said Dharshan. Anyone who had seen yesterday's Federer would realise that he still has something more in him that can get him even more laurels. All those who had written off Federer would have realised that he is still the man to beat. Ofcourse, Federer had not played tyo his potential this year, but the problem is that we are not able to accept anything other than the title from Fedex. Ofcourse at 27, his prime time is all over. Remember that Nadal had to play the second fiddle to Fedex for full long 4 years. O)nly when Fedex career is on the downhill, Nadal is able to overtake him. Please give Fedex the due respect that he deserves. If you hear the post match conferences, yopu can observe everytime , be it French open or wimbledon or the Olympics, Nadal everytime had acknowledged Fedex as the all time champion.

Mr Alok Shah,

Jus coz u think you are a tad bit more educated, or have more command over a language, doesnt mean u start making fun of others!

In fact that very gesture on ur part makes it pretty lucid that you need some real manners to be instilled in you. Wish u take this in the right stead Mr. Man with no Sportmanship :)
