One of the best results this year was alonso who won 2 races with depleted car & earned a massive points. its heartening to see such a good driver. i wud like to c alonso driving for torro rosso next year. that wud be a exciting season with kimi & massa in ferr & ham & kov in mlaren. kubic & hedifield in bmw

yes perfectly right. Alonso is not upto his standard in Renault. Torro Roso is having Ferrary engine . sure it will benefit more. But for sure last season ferrary ( mostly Kimi) was struggling of speed and braking prbms. Hamilton is having a wonderful car than any other in race at present.

Everyone including Ferrari knew that Glock was losing ground as he was on the wrong tyres that !!and u talking about hamilton?? everyone looked the other way when schumacher found ways to bypass the rules ..and hamilton is in his second season...so what he has acheived is amazing ,massa also is a very good driver but ferrari lost it for him even though the stewards tried to even the playing field ..So please present the full picture or dont do it at all

Do anyone think that is if fair strategy to slow down and way thru to others when u are in last corner? Just think about professional side. How many cars did hamilton hit this season? He even hit Kimi wen the car was stoped in signal. only one advantage you can say that hamilton got a wonderful car . he has to thank Mc laren. It was a bad season for Kimi cuz he got lot of complains with his car. Braking prbls, engine prbls and ferrarys pit stop strategy ... Do you think Glock or hamilton got same professionalism of Kimi? I dont think so. It was nice year for vettal. see how he overtake hamilton in last laps? so who is much better.. ? What is range of hamilton?

Kimi wasnt perfect either. Remember him banging Sutil in Monte Carlo and his spinning of the track when competing with Lewis in wet conditions. All in all Lewis was better driver and he won. It is just that Ferrari fans cant accept it.

Raja Sen,

You have written one of the most wonderfully sketched ways in which a Formula 1 season can be described.

I am happy that there are Web sites like rediff.com who allow awesome people like you to publish material of such class.

I have not been able to watch many races this season, but you have surely given one of the best precis of all the players, teams, and attitudes that I have ever read!

Thanks, and kudos!

Vishal R. Jain

Are you kidding me? This is a Ferrari / Alonso fanboy article with factual mistakes like Lewis scored 60 in the last 11 races instead of 50. He has made no mention of the FIA dubious decisions that benefitted Massa. He has used slander on Lewis's gf in the first para. One of the most trashy articles ever written on F1.

Cant wait for the next season
by Hari on Nov 03, 2008 11:25 PM  | Hide replies

Three World champion drivers, a wounded Massa, Hamilton's equal Rosberg, Amazing Kubica, Young Schuey Vettel, ever improving Kovalainen all in the mix with changed regulations that really is conductive towards overtaking and 4-5 teams that could potentially win races on their day, oh I cant wait for the start of the next season. There wasnt a more democratically egalitarian race season for the last 15 years, where almost all got decent points, where the winner only averaged less than 5.5 points per race and most often 1st and 13th fast cars were less than 1 s fast per lap. So let your race stripes be rested while you thaw out the winter to a potentially bigger season in 2k9...

Why is there no Alonso in that list? As much as his attitude may grate, you can't deny he's as good as anybody else in f1 now

Hamilton is the best
by Yogesh Gupta on Nov 03, 2008 10:49 PM  | Hide replies

Ferrari and Massa supporters may scream at the top of their voices that Massa is great, but they cant change the fact that Hamilton is the yongest ever world champion and he has won just in his second year in F1 and last year he missed it by a single point unfortunately. Hamilton is going to win many championships in future and he is undoubtedly a cut above the rest. He is the best!!

Hamilton will win because Alonso is at Renault which obviously cant match the pace of front runners consistently, Massa is too erratic and he will have to be very lucky if FIA remains biased against Hamilton / Mclaren. Ferrari is not the same team it used to be in Schuey / Brawn era, they are certainly on decline albeit slowly. the performances of the Scuderia in the last couple of seansons indicate that. There is no reason why Mclaren cant cope with rule changes, they are one of the biggest and most prestigious teams in the history of Motorsports and they have a partner like Mercedes. They have no dearth of the best engineers and Mechanics in their team. BMW are ever improving will most probably wont be able to match the pace of the Maclarens or Ferraris. They have not been able to catch them up in four years. Vettel is extremely talented, but dont forget he will be only in a Red Bull next season. Toyata and Honda have never been and probably will never be able to fight for the Podiums, so we dont need a crystal ball to see who is the going to be the winner next year. Hail Lewis.

Having more number of wins in the 2008 Grand Prix proves that Felipe Massa was the Best for the Year.Hard Luck to him for not winning the Title.Congrat's to Ferrari for winning the Constructor's Championship & to Lewis Hamilton for winning the Driver's Championship.

Etiquette !!!!!!!
by Guest on Nov 03, 2008 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

I have give through various websites and print media looking out for a comment from Lewis congratulating Massa on winning the race and for being a great competitor .... I could not even find any .... Did any one find something ? This really shows the etiquette and sportsmanship one has .... We had been learning a lot from Britishers and its time that we stop fighting among ourselves praising or abusing the champion who merely lacks minimum etiquette and courtesy.

Right said Bro. Thats the last thing he would do.
However Massa was modest enough to congratulate Lewis and appreciate McLarens efforts.
