SANIA MIRZA ANJU BOBBY GEORGE
by damodaran mohan on Mar 19, 2008 07:27 PM

Actually Sania Mirza and Anju Bobby George are the two most HYPED Indian women sportspersons and lack SUBSTANCE. Maximum glory and fame brought to country by the greatest Indian sportswomen are undoubtedly PT Usha and Shiny Wilson . Even hundreds of Sanias and Anjus cannot measure up to one P.T. Usha. We will wait for the Olympics.

Media pressure

Media gives all the hype and puts immense pressure on her. Guess media might break her down and leave her short of confidence in her game

Stop abusing her
by Ranjith Parakkal on Mar 19, 2008 12:23 PM  | Hide replies

I dont understyand why so many ppl are upset with Sania Mirza ... some to the extent of abusing her or asking her to leave the game.

Guys, remember that Sania is not representing India in any of these events. She is not taking any money from indian govt nor is she spoiling any other Indians oppurtunity by playing in these tournaments. She is playing only in her personal capacity. She might win some, she may lose some. If she wins good for her, if she loses bad for her. But thats her problem.

Still some dumb-asses in these forums badmouth her when she loses in some tournament.

There are plenty of players who never even make into the top-50. Would you go around badmouthing all these ppl. Why only Sania ??

Beats me.

Does'nt it bat u when ladies from otehr country take the cup....

She has got all the infrastructure and the facilities she wants after representing India...Then why shy away for playing for country when ppl are criticizing her for her off field controversies....
Players like Sachin etc etc are all abused day in day out...but her is not representing Somalia!!!!

Does'nt this beat u???

What beats me is why ppl like u dont take up the game, when the very same oppurtunities and infrastructure is available to you. You can be a male tennis player -- Grand Slam champion from India. Y not ?? eh ?? Bcos perhaps u r not cut out for it. Similarly Sania may not be cut out for winning Grand Slams. She may be good enough to make it into top 30, but probably not any better. So leave it at that. Dont know why u should get pissed off abt it.

BTW, since when did tennis players start representing their home countries in tennis tournaments. Tennis unlike cricket is not played that way. Please understand that. Sachin doesnt have an option but to play for India. Got it !!

I get pissed bcos...she gives false hopes and expectations by saying that she will break in to top 20!

Even I would have represented India...but few buggers were J of me being selected ahead of other club favourites....

I think u read news papers... Always country name is highlighted before the players name. That is because Country comes ahead of all its bull shit civilians...how much ever popular he/she gets

Probably u read and comment only on Sannia's defeat She is consistently beating top 20 players though she is not able to beat any of the top 10 player. If she continue this she will definately improve her ranking

Which top 20 and when....consistency is required...
India beat Australia in cricket...but they cannot be rated world beaters....

She can beat even top 10 if she is consistantly defeating top 20's...that is how u challange urself and beat the world!

CONSISTENCY!!!!

Ok so now u admit u were a failure in tennis.

So all the more reason why u could be a little more appreciative abt someone who did a little better than u. If not u can atleast stop being so criticial.

So wat if the newspapers hightlight the couuntrys name ahead of the players. What is Sanias fault there ?? Can u get anymore illogical than this ??

Going by ur logic any player in any sport from India should be among the number one in the world. Else dont play. Right ??

I am sure shes trying her best to get into the top 20. Even if she doesnt, I dont see any reason for u to be pissed of with her. In the meanwhile u can try to be a little more supportive. Atleast less critical.

Illogical reasoning man....U just want to defend her failure...that is it!!!

And I dint say I was a loser...there was too much of Biasing...Forget it I dont think i need to justify anything to u as I am sure u must have not even played goli/lagori in ur lifetime.

For a talent like hers she shud be beating the top 20's easily... Getting injured more than usual shows how fragile she is...To be a world beater u need to improve fitness and Stamina!!!!

BTW all that "infrastructure" and "facilities" that is probably availabe to her now, is something she earned by playing well. And she must be also paying by the hour for using it.
