If Sania has to even reach Quarter finals in any grandslam Singles.... she has to change a lot. To start with her attitude, her fitness, her sex kitten image, her interest in Glamour world and her fake accent and burning desire to earn more and more money thro' ads and glam world.
Now, somoene here will start sining the same old song.. she has achieved which no other Indian lady has achieved.
Well, if Sania goes on like this... she will keep exiting all major tournaments in 2nd or 3rd round and one find day she will pretend to have major injury and quit tennis and join bollywood.
I am sure we appreciate her success and want her to win more matches, but i doubt it will happen.

u r right mr.bird. not even sania no other girl from india looks like winning any grandslam single title. we dont have that stamina. even mens cant do that. we can play 3 set matches or doubles. what was amritraj's best perfpormance? what about ramesh krishnan? why to blame sania or media? so better we ban game of tennis.
It is easy to reach at top but it is difficult to remain at top....which is not there in Sania...Her game is not improving if we compare her performances in grand slam..she is not able to reach any of the quarter final even...Why dont she learn from Martina Navratilova..the undisputed tenis queen or John Macnroe 17 time winner...we have NONE...

sale to retain top stop u have to first reach top spot. In India we praise people for small accomplishments as we have never seen victory so even small acheivements make us happy.
All the people who come to this forum must have not even seen single match of sania and Sania is just a media hype. she is a very ordianary player who can just be ranked in Asia

India has never done very well in Induvidual sports like tennis. But a few who have done well have been Prakash Padukone, Gopichand, Geeth Sethi, P T Usha (But limited to Asia) and some cases in shooting. But all the above when started showing promise kept rising and peaked. One does not see this in Sania ..she seems to be stuck at a place for years now. Will she ever come out of the rut?

as u say if she is stucked to round 3 or 4 then thats MAX what she can do. the names u mentioned above r in the same category. if she is number one in asia thats enough for her. as in cricket our bowlers cant bowl 150kph becoz thats their MAX. i think even if she retired within 2 yrs still she had achived much than any other girl. u cant make good players by demoralising them.

Vijay Vikram- You too, would not be 10% of employees, coz it is not your field or profession. You might be best in your profession. She has only one job- play tennis. We have problem in attitude..If player becomes famous in one game, he/she becomes money minting machine and forget the game..I believe more focus is required to reach at World no.1. We have reached to top positions like Chess, Billiards where there is no media attention and glamour world.

For one thing, there has never been a better women tennis player from India. Now, when you are consistently reaching the 3rd round of grand slam tournament's that is quite an achivement for an Indian. So, let's not jump and start comparing with the russian queens of tennis as there the culture is totally different. In India she has to not only concentrate on her tennis, but reply to people who want's her to cover her body completely to play tennis, have to go to court to answer some most idiotic accusations etc. So she is having to fight a lot more than other players in the circuit. So let's salute her for her courage and determination to go forward. And let's wish her all the best to be a better player and give her some peace of mind. She will certainly do better in the coming days, I am sure. And she is getting beaten by the likes of Anna Chakvadatze, Venus Williams, Sharapova, Serena etc who all respect her for her game. Let's us start appreciating her for what she is, as she has done somethings that no other Indian women has done before...
The entire country is looking up to you. Although your sport demands huge mental and physical strength but the way you have been playing against the williams will definitely frustrate them. You are very close to beating one of the williams sisters soon. Lage Raho
