Why americans play in indian tennis teams ??
by Amit Sharma on Feb 25, 2008 08:56 PM

As far as I know Leander Paes and Prakash Amritraj both stay all the time in the US and come to india just to play for the indian team. I am not sure if there are other players who do the same.
No offense meant to Leander and Prakash they are very good players, specially Leander is a legend for indian tennis. But why cant they stay and play in india and let other youngsters benifit from their experience. They enjoy superior facilities in the US and the indian players struggle to cope with them and they all the time dominate the indian tennis scene.
Why can they use the money and influence they have to create good facilities and training institutes in india ??
PS : I am not in favor or against anyone !!

Bong Politics
by Singha on Feb 25, 2008 08:43 PM  | Hide replies

bongs tend to be parochial and support each other to the detriment of the country.

In this case delhites and southies teamed up to teach lessons to bongs.

There was no need to play some joker bong when superior options were available.

It is time for Bongs to grow up.

On the contrary, bongs r d most liberal minded in the country. y don't u cite at least 1 e.g. when bongs supported each other 2 d detriment of d country? In dis case, no options (superior or otherwise) were available. Playing an unfit player is not an option at all.
By the way, had the bongs not grown up, India would still b ruled by d English with the help of buffoons like u.
D only captain if d national cricket team 2 rise above petty regionalism is a bong, & u knw smthg? People in d knw of things say dat he is most succesful captain of India. Hw many captains has India had frm ur region? Hv dey managed 2 rise above regionalism? tm 4 morons lk u 2 grow up & accept reality.

Shameful
by manish rai on Feb 25, 2008 08:38 PM

It is indeed shameful that players of this stature fight like dogs. Both mahesh and paes had made such great combination that they would have rewritten history , instead they fought for their egos and left the country behind . Any lessons to be learnt from Kumble ??

Paes is just a victim of politics
by indianpatriot on Feb 25, 2008 08:16 PM  | Hide replies

Indians == Gutter mentality.

Gutter mentality means honest, dedicated sportsmen like Leander Paes have to fall victim to politics played by Mahesh bhupathi and his group.

India will never change.

I would not like to comment on your so called Bongs! But if you question the committment and dedication of Leander Paes, when he is playing for India then you definitely must be a Pakistani!! Everybody roots for their regional players at one point of time but never forgets national interests. Did you ever see a Davis Cup/ Asian Games/ Olympics match in which Paes played and compared it with the amateur tournaments he played in?? I am sure you have not.

Problem is because of Sania
by Mdhusudhan BS on Feb 25, 2008 07:43 PM

This has all started with Sania in the field. These Mahesh and Paes have fought over Sania, as who will get a chance to play with her both on and off the play. This has irked both of them.

They have to show brotherly hood. They have a lot to learn from Mahabharata. Common guys, grow up. It is not the end of the world.

Leander's Contribution is Unquestionable!
by Rajeev Singh on Feb 25, 2008 07:20 PM

He is one man because of whom so many indians started watching Tennis. He is one who got us Olympic. He is the one who always gave importance to not-so-rich Davis Cup over other events. Yes, he may be rude at times but you think about a leader who led successfully by being nice to everyone. There will be some people who will always criticize. Leander, you should not feel hurt by comments of these new young players, who think of Davis cup as platform for earning money. You are our pride. We love you!
