It is shocking. What we need is sports minded personalities like Vijay Mallaya and Shah Rukh Khan to come forward and set up infrastructure with stalwarts like Vimal Kumar and Prakash Padukone to take India forward. Lets not depend on these leeches who bleed the country of the money and do nothing for the aspiring youth.

you idiot...the guys u mentioned are in for money making, not to take sports forward..if that was the case, mallya would have had a Indian drive Force India car, and Shah Rukh after his Chake de Crap would have taken keen interest in improving hockey. But they wont.
Can't supply shuttlecocks??? I mean, what the heck is this? Shameful would be an understatement for this sort of a scenario. And we have billion dollar sponsorships for IPL in cricket..Gosh, this is ridiculous. ..And we still wonder why India does so poorly in other sports besides cricket.

Couldn't agree more with you. This is utterly shocking/ridiculous/stupid/appalling. India have done really well in badminton with Pullela gopichand and Prakash padukone winning All England championships. The world's fastest growing economy couldn't afford even shuttlecocks?

Egg-jactly!!! Seriously, it is truly a disgrace. I am sure that there will be a blame-game, with each party trying to wash their hands off the sordid episode, let's call it "Shuttlecock-gate"!!!
