bakwas, although your heading is correct. WHats the big deal if FDR is a racist. But I would say Sourav Ganguly got a special treatment just because he came from a rich background and had a lot of political support. Remember that once Lefties had almost decided to stall parliament over the dropping of Saurav Ganguly and only once he was reinstated did they desist from carrying out the threat.

Dhoni won us the World Cup 20-20 and defeated Aus in Aus. Neither or which anyone else could do. As soon as duds like Saurav, Dravid etc were thrown out of the one day side our performance markedly improved. Its so hopelessly wrong to be regional when only India's victory should be on top of our agenda.

an idiot like you doesn't realise that Bipasha is called a dusky beauty as a complement and gets more press coverage than any other heroine except Aishwarya rai. Deepika and Priyanka are also nice looking.

Interesting piece of History!
by Ayan Roy on Aug 19, 2008 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

Wow, that was indeed an interesting twist in the much abhorred "Hitler's Olympics" story.
You see, the winners of W.W.2 (the United States, U.K.) et al will always glorify their own nations and will always try to paint everything related to Nazi Germany with a negative brush, even small positive things. (Even though I say this, I do not condone Hitler's proven genocide against the Jews.)
And most vocal and reputed journalists came from corporations like BBC and CNN which were affiliated to the U.S.
And nobody would like to paint their own president racist!
It's a known fact that most White Americans, before the 1960's revolutionary days of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, and Kennedy, were hardcore red-neck racists to the core who simply hated black African Americans! But the journalists and biographers cleverly want to sugarcoat and hide the dirty truth of the American White attitude of the early 20th century!!

That is true - America had same policies as Apartheid till the late 60s. Its only - as you put it - blacks rose in anger - that things changed for them. Hopefully - electing a capable guy like Obama will wash away the sins of white people in the past. Obama can beat a black in basketball and a white in chess - which is what is making him an attractive proposition.

Voting for John (Mc Cain) or Barrack (Obama) has little to do with their skin color; Its more to do with issues like:
prochoice(Barrack?)/prolife(John), pro war(John)/un decided(Barrack?), offshore drilling(JOhn?, Barrack?), alternative energy, rising prices, inflation, universal health care etc.

So buddy, redirect ur racist allegations toward other directions.

An extremely good read. Rediff's standards are really pathetic. This one however was a gold mine.

Hail Hitler

Hitler has more often than not been wrongly projected by the press. If Germany shows discipline today, it is because of Hitler. I dont support his massacre of Jews, but I still believe he's the best leader the world has seen. People who have read Mein Kampf would agree.

Doordarshan at its best

In america they broadcast mostly American particpants role in olympics. I agree india has less participation in Olympics. While we were looking at saina in the quarters the match had already started and were shown only after six to seven points in the quarter finals. Two old men or one old and one young dont know why they are talking talked talked and talked and we had to wait till they show us the match.
In the 1600 Metres swimming finals they switched the telecast between swimming and the hockey (dont know the reason) unnecessarily. Its really pathetic to have given doordarshan such telecast rights. I understand hindi is our national language...we dont want some pathetic commentary for that sake. It is better for the sake of every one that we speak in international language better. I can understand hindi but not such pathetic ones...some one says "Abhinav bindra gold medalist from athens" it might be a mistake on his part but old people like that should not be given chance.

DD Sports telecast is screwed up the the anchors. i was watching 800 mtr race, they were showing it almost till the end and immediatly the moment they were about to cross the line they switched over to an unimportant boxing game.
Most of the pool activities they shown the award ceremony.
No problem these brainless old me will get their salary hike in this pay commission and blame the public for lower TPR

What are those anchors talking on and on and on about? Bunch of no-hopers. One fellow has to talk in English and another has to translate in Hindi. Then we see the medal ceremony and then they come back to the studio and say "there we were watching the final of the event xyz". WTF man? Are these guys even aware that there is an olympic schedule drawn out for events? Most hilarious is the events of the day ticker. It says what the events of the day are but no one knows what DD is going to show. Events of the day we can get from web, newspaper etc. DD doesn't even know what they are going to show next I guess. Does anyone know who is responsible for this fiasco?
