Seriously...ve been keeping a watch on all de articles about olympics since de past few days...and this one stands out beating em all....its got in it a mix of sports, politics, and also de feel of wht united states was once upon a time....
Excellant article, didnt know a lot of things mentioned here, like the hardships of Owens in his old age. Well, History is written by the victorious, Hitler and the Nazi's have been successfully demonized by the allies in an attempt to avoid having another Hitler come up in Germany. The thing is that the Allies were so successful in this that even here in Germany Hitler is passionately hated. Out of curiosity I asked one of my German colleagues what he thought about Hitler, and the answer suprised me. I was told never to ask such questions and to altogether avoid using his name in the future.
It is no coincidence that all the runners in 100 meters in Beijing Olympics(if I am not mistaken) were black. You have to respect their superirority in sports, more in olympic sports
TVR Shenoy's tailpiece expressed succintly the frustration felt by all of us over DD's coverage of the Olympics.It is really irritating to keep listening to the anchors rattling off results, without showing any of the video footage of the results!We might as well be listening to the radio!!!
I suspect the powers-that-be in Mandi House stand on the street and pick up 10 people at random. These people are then put through a medical scan, and all those found to possess a functional brain are rejected. The remaining lucky ones get to entertain us on TV. I personally am a great enjoyer of nonsense, so I love listening to the DD folks -- 5 minutes at a time.

The worst coverage i have ever seen. The commentary is bad, the coverage is bad, the anchors are bad and the hindi commentary..my god it cant be worse.. They should be really ashamed to broadcast such a big even on television.. i Hope some person from doordarshan reads this. they should be banned from telecasting anything from now on
