Its Shameful For A Country
by Kabita Kalita on Aug 06, 2008 03:49 PM

If Monica is not going to Beijing Olympic for all some fake blames which always rises for the North Eastern people then it is one of the shameful event for India. North Eastern people are always being cheated and If you want to know more about it then come to Delhi and see the behaviour for these Noth Eastern people.

We want gold medals,
by Shyam on Aug 06, 2008 03:42 PM

We want gold medals, but this is the way we select players. All bases, religion, region, caste, community, relationships, everything but the worth. Somebody wanted to induct a girl of his choice so he will fail another innocent girl. If the coach who should treat his trainees as his own children can afford to cheat to favour somebody, whom can we believe in? Politics everywhere. How the hell can we hope to win even a plastic medal in international events, if this is the way selections are made? The coach, not Monica, should be shot in public. My sympathies are with Monica (It is another matter that I am also from AP, but foremost, I am an Indian)

should give her the chance
by debarshi on Aug 06, 2008 03:38 PM

I guess what she said is fare enough to back her up. IWF should now send her and wait for the result at Beijing , if found guilty she can be banned life time but must give her fare chance as seems a foul play here. If she is so confident to say shoot her in public if found guilty, it seems a foul play here.

Shame old story..

The controversies have just started. aage aage dekho hota hai kya! Doping, blame game, politics, corruption etc have always plagued Indian sport. Just a look at the sorry state of hockey will show us what a dark age this is for sports in India. either you have to be extremely talented or have strong political contacts to keep your career going.
Monika Devi is guilty or innocent, this will be clear in near future. But her career surely devastated, thanks to regionalism (if what she states is correct).
What we need is a Person like Kiran Bedi to look after Indian sports. When the whips will fall on the guilty people then only we will have true sportspersons emerging and surely some podium finishes.
Till then we can just look at the mockery of Indian sports in amusement.

For Olympics like International events, only International famed persons. Sushma Swaraj is only for National Level events. She cannot qualify with these three. Uma Bharti, Rabri Devi, Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje are all for only national level events.
