Why the double standards ?
by deepak aggrawal on Apr 07, 2008 07:58 PM  | Hide replies

I just went through this article and failed to understand what message it is trying to pass on.
On one hand the writer says we should not be giving chances to nationalism and on the other hand he says clap simply because an Indian car ran the race.
It is simple logic... An Indian car ran the race, yes. The driver was Indian ? No. What world are we living in... A Global one.
So if you like McLaren like i do, then clap when mc Laren wins. You love the cherry red ferrari... cheer the Ferari.
You love Force India... cheer for it irrespective of who is driving it and who is sponsoring it.

Enjoy the sport boss and not the bosses of the sport.

Rediff and Mr Sen, come on guys get some expert to comment on the F1 not someone who is self obsessed and has no knowledge of the sport.. Please stop giving silly review of a race.. Don't forget the past races where Force India barely finished the race.. You can boost only if this team earns some point and comes up with some podium finishes.. Hamilton is bound to bounce back lets see how often can Force india car overtakes him in future

If Hamilton does let Force India car overtake him in the future atleast during this year it would be suprising, from finishing back grid they are slowly coming along into middle grid. Force India already has said they are targetting a podium finish next season.

ah abhay!! well u r urself an ignorant f1 fan..u xpecting force india to get podium finishes..i think u dont watch f1..u just only know how to coment on others..force india was a backmarker team last season..way off the leaders..geting lapped always..but its not the case nowdays..they are just 2 seconds of the pace from leaders which is quite less now compared to last year...and so force india has improved...nd u r talking about miracle straight away..study a sport prperly before commenting..in no way can force india has a podium finish this year unless another indianopolis like incident hapens this time..that hapend in 2005..

Dr. Mallya?
by on Apr 07, 2008 06:55 PM  | Hide replies

I have nothing against shameful Eulogy - hell, I am a proponent of it when I see dollar signs - but there are times when even I draw the line. Mr. Vijay Mallya has a doctorate conferred to him honorary by a university. This means 'Dr.' cannot be used before his name in speech or in writing.

I hope all writers understand that sycophancy cannot be at the cost of academic ethics. Whatever humans may have become as a race, only those of us who have had the good fortune of school education can only ever put pen to paper, or characters to a screen.

It only makes sense that we respect the academic set-up and refrain from abusing our 'journalistic' licence.

hey guys!!.c'mon as its already said..its not easy to put up a country's name in an f1 team..but as mallya loves india,so he tried hard to get india's name on his car...evry team had to acept it..sont b silly guys...thats how much mallya loves india...nd if u r teling that what indian connection the team has??then i would say the team has an indian owner who gives most % of money into it..now guys dont tell me that india doesnt have an indian driver in its team..that will be a stupid thing to say..as one has to prove himself to become an f1 driver..but karun chandhok isnt far behind..

Its gud tat mallya is pumping lotta money & effort, but don't forget the fact tat hez trying to cash in on the recent popularity of this game in India. He's a pure businessman and his perspective is purely business & less of emotions. No harm in it anyway. Moroever, imagine the mileage hez getting out of this sport. Kingfisher is now recognized as a global brand and he has all the plans to take it to the next level. F1 is more of a platform for him... Not doing any favour by using India in it....
