You gujju have proved yourself to be a loser.. You could not even beat Harsh Mankad and Harsh was not even in top 300. But Vijay was in top 25 for your kind info, that too when top players were in contention.. can you imagine your pathetic situation.. Thats why I called you a LOSER.. Hope this theory helps..

Vijay Amritraj & Ramesh Krishnan have been the greatest Singles Tennis Players that India has produced. They were constantly in the top 25...that too during the times of legends like Connors, Borg and McEnroe.

Sameer,
Saying Vijay or Ramesh was a top 25 player is putting a positive spin on the truth. According to you, Vijay and Ramesh are in the same league as Borg, Connors or Lendl, who too were top 25 players but spend a lot of time in the top 3!

If you assume that the fourth round of a grand slam will have the top 16 players, then probability of Vijay and Ramesh featuring in the fourth round is slim. In other words the probability of them getting into the 2nd week of a grand-slam is rare!

I will agree that they are arguably the best players that India has produced because it is difficult to compare players from different generations (i.e. compare against Paes or Bhupathi)

vijay had to play against greatest players ever !!!!!!!!.hahahaha
come on guys; be realistic..
Even Leander Paes has at least won an Olympic medal..and Paes has beaten Sampras and Ivanisevic also in his singles career..but that doesnt make him better than them...
He was the greatest INdian tennis player ever no doubt..but not a better player than Borg, McEnroe, Connors who have records to their names in grand slams..
The one who cant win grand slam..cannot be a better player than the one who has won..
It's like India is better cricket team than AUS but they just couldnt put it together in the matches against them or the all the finals they always lost...what a lame excuse it is..

what a lame interview and publication by rediff
by Hiren Bhavsar on Sep 26, 2007 10:00 AM

I agree
if u cant win a grand slam..or say..cant put it together it doesnt make u a better player than the one u lost against..
People win; people lose..but over a period of time if u cant learn to improve on such things u cannot be considered better than anyone..
Vijay Amritraj was best indian...but not better then legends..I guess this whole interview is just for media attention to make more money in the whatever next project they r doing..

what is the parameter of greatness?
Quarter final of a grand slam does not make you better than two of the greatest players tennis has ever seen..

Go and check McEnroe's and Connors butts. It will be as thick as you skull because of the multiple steriods that were pumped up from there. Poor Vijay. He had to compete against humans steroids. Get it?

Also, to the best of my knowledge, Vijay beat them only in best of 3 sets and rarely ever in best of 5 sets. Reason - Vijay could not sustain 5 set matches because of a near asthmatic condition. Explains why he lost regularly to lower ranked players in 5 set matches

Vijay was the best tennis player India produced.

Borg - V.Amritraj 3-1
Connors - V.Amritraj 6-5
McEnroe - V.Amritraj 2-8 (McEnroe was lot younger than Vijay)

Actually Vijay was a better pleyer then Connors for sure.

Vijay was the greatest tennis player India ever produced. Some comments by jokers here (who were probably not even born when Vijay was playing) are sad and pathetic.

What Anand said is true and I support him.

Vijay had to play some of the greatest tennis players ever, Borg, McEnroe and Connors and all of them were scared to play Vijay.

I agree - I had the good fourtune of practising with both Vijay and Anand and I can say that Vijay was at a minimum better than Connors. Some of the comments here are in porr taste and obviusly from people who dont know much about the game

Thank goodness you didn't say vijay was better than FedEx!!! He won once against Borg and doesn't have a winning record against Connors and by some means was a nemisis to McEnroe. Do you remember Brad Gilbert Agassi's nemesis? Agassi could never beat him. So is brad a better player than Agassi? Bottom line... Don't become a joke yourself trying to joke.

you freaking idiot, it was McEnroe 8 and Vijay 2. Not the other way around!!! It is good to be patriotic but you did be better off showing it in some fitting manner.

Look at the records,
by on Sep 25, 2007 10:28 PM  | Hide replies

Look at the records,
maan! It is an insult to Borg for someone to say that Vijay Amritraj is better than him! To be good, you have to be good in all departments. He cannot excuse Vijay for being "unable to be able to put it together over a period of one week". What a rubbish excuse! After all, these are the aspects which differentiate champions from ordinary players. What's the use simply having a great game if you cannot convert it into wins?

In the same way, can we say that Sania is better than Sharapova?
I found all hot stuff on rrl.co.in/blgspt

Atleast they have something to speak about their achievements... what do you have? just a big mouth bantering around?

Whatever they have done and achieved if you try it might take a decade just to reach the bottom point forget about the peaks.

Be polite and give respect to people who have achieved something in their lives!!!
