The disappointing show of the Indian team in the semis against Malaysia ,only highlighted the fact that we need quality and calm minded strikers in the team . The poor finishing and shaky defense didn't help our cause . An extra penalty corner specialist is a urgent requirement .We need to think of the way to bring Sandeep Singh back into the team .

There are plenty of Indians who would be very happy with the performance of these youngsters. Most of them,unfortunately, do not express their views through Rediff Messageboard !

suresh u r a fool, the typical indian mentality of getting happy and overboard on a small victory. Malaysia is a weak team in international hockey. If we loose to malaysia then when are we going to beat the top teams like Aussie,germany and holland. Untill Gill steps out and some new administration come indian hockey will not change. India is a third rate country in hockey and who ever followed its game since years knows that our game is on the downside . when India won asia cup few years ago every body said our game has improved but we were lost in the world cup. The Aussie and korean teams are their reserve teams and this tourney has no top team and if we dance and celebrate for going to semis then god save our hockey. we have not been playing champions trophy since years and have to play qualifiers to play in olympics and world cup and u say our hockey is improving. No sport is improving in Inda. only there are couple of individuals who are shining becuase of their hard work not becuase of the administration. My point is dont assume too much of our game and expect them to win medal in coming olympic. They have not beaten any of the top team in the world. If they start defeating the top teams then we can say out hockey is improving.
