lets do simple calculations: topalov rating in last list is more that what Anand will have in upcoming one. Topalov actually was rated 2800 when anand fell to 2779 from 2800 himself. I am not taking any credit away from Anand, but taking a different view wrt to what he can do. I hope he is 2800 again.
And its a fact that he isnt WORLD CHAMP. Thats KRAMNIK. World no1 in rating list is different from WORLD Champion.
Please dont take wrong meaning of what I said, I am a staunt supporter of anand since childhood. Just that now I follow chess very closely so can make an analysis sort.

and btw: I am not much of a cricket fanatic:) rather am chess fanatic!
there used to be intense discussion about chess long before rediff started reporing chess news at the CHESS sections of the forums at my website. many national players used to come there to add genuine thoughts.

hey Anand, CONGRATS 10 billion times !! You are the jewel of India not only because of the today's achievement, but due to the image you have in your lifetime created as an Indian in the international arena. You are the fastest yet modest mind.
Vishy knows how hard it was for him to get this slot (NO. 1), Now I wish he would keep this position with him for a longer duration than what he had taken to reach there.

Vishwanathan Anand has made a billion Indians proud and the best part is that he has been consistent for more than a decade. Hope we have more people taking inspiration from him and other great sportspersons and make us feel proud.
