Some folks on this board plays LT more than hobby exactly knows what it takes to be Fed. Amazing consistency and kick-serve display; how the heck does he do it? Lucky to see him play in this era. As the McEnroe puts it in his show - "I thought Pete would be the greatest in modern times but this guy to me is the greatest who ever held a tennis racket; peak-peak comparison to any recorded era he can beat any player I have seen".

was pete so consistent mr.Vyas? no, never.... and remember federer beat him at the wimbledon when pete was a his best....
I think ATP should now change the rankings. Federer should be ranked no. 1 & all the rest of the players starting from no 5 onwards. Not only is he good, he has been so consistent since the last 3-4 years & all this at the age of just 25. If you leave golf which is not so demanding physically, Federer has to be the greatest sportsman of all time of all sports. Apart from the game his off court demeanour is thoroughly gentlemanly. Just compare him with any of the top Indian cricketers, no one comes any where near him. He was also named amongst the most handsome men in the world a few years ago. If their is some real, natural talent, it is this man.

U are absolutely right! The rift between him and other players is increasing by each tournament. Right now, nobody is anywhere near to his game.
Roger Federer is probably the greatest sportsperson of the modern era along with Tiger woods..these guys keep getting better and better,I rank Federer above Sampras, its only a matter of time before he overtakes Sampras record of 14 grandslams...his game is so perfect that it looks like he is doing magic on the court, but to be the greatest tennis player of all time he has to win the French open which he not able to win so far and i am sure by the end of his career,he surly would have 2 to 3 french open titles in his kitty!!!!!!!!!!!
Mark my words friends you are watching the greatest tennis player ever without any doubt.Nearest to him according to me was my all time favourite tennis player(Pete Sampras).you ask me why is he the greatest...its because he has got it all serve ,volley, baseline play..everything...
Really it was one of the best finals I have seen in the past 5 years . Fernando also played a magnificent game but fortune didnot favour him BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME DEAR.After he fell he couldnt get the same momentum . Thanks to starsports for such a wonderfull coverage of the whole game. we are all privileged to see such a great tennis from fedyyy...........

only 1 question can he do it on Roland Garros, bcoz he will ease past Sampras. Sampras is no comparison to Federer

answers: 1. Yes he will. 2. Yes he can and he will. Note: He will go onto 20 titles maybe but still, Pistol Pete is the ultimate champion and the greatest player.

I am sorry Pete will not even come on top 10 of all time champions, he cant even enter finals of french open 1 time. How can U call him all time great. Aggassi is lot better than him. Any player who cant play in a particular court cannot be claimed to be even mini great then how come all time great. Hail federer he will win this year french open and will make it a golden slam year by claiming all four.

Wat Rubbish ? If Tendulkar doesnt hit a hundred at Lords u wont call him the greatest? Guys, Federer is winning because no - one is capable to beat him. He may be a good player, but great? Well greats dont have a name called ROGER !! Tell me one guy Federer has beaten who has even two grandslams to his name! Let him play against your dad or mine for that matter, and wen he wins, tell him he is Super GOD !! Leander Paes has beaten Sampras wen he was World number 1 in Atlanta. Paes comes second after Federer in ur list ?

Bjorn Borg played 4 US Open finals and he lost all 4. Does it make him any lesser legend than what he is considered as? If Roger does not win a French open, will it make him any less dominant player in the list of all time? Is it not enough for him to win 3 slams twice, which no one has ever done before? Pete Sampras was a class in himself and lets acknowledge that matching Samprass is not going to be easy for anyone for Samprass did it for a much longer Span than the players mentioned above. Only time will tell how long Roger Federer can sustain his dominance.

pete was far far better than fedex on all surfaces except clay! I am sure a good serve and volley player can trounce federer...where are the petes, henmans, ivans, beckers, martins, rafters, stichs of this era?????
Good to see a great match. It wasn't that FedEx won the first set comfortably. Fernando Gonzalez played brilliant tennis to give back point for point. But it is the way Federer raises the bar when the opponent gets tougher that made all the difference. All in all, a great exhibition of good quality, competitive tennis. Gonzy - better luck next time. Way to go, Federer.
