Haj subsidy to Muslims for pilgrimage to Mecca is NOT something the Govt. provides as a favor to Muslims or to sympathize with the Muslims. It is purely for a business reason that the subsidy is provided. The Airline and Travel industry in India make big bucks out of Muslims making pilgrimage to Mecca. Notably, the Govt. owned Air India/Indian Airlines are the most benefited out of it. In turn, the higher officials in those corporations (mostly belonging to a particular community) retire with fat retirement benefits, including free or subsidized air fare for them and their family (even for married sons/daughters; I personally know a guy who is married and travels free, since his father served in Air India/Indian Airlines; how about a public interest litigation against that!?).
If the subsidy is cut, it doesn%u2019t matter to Muslims. Because, it is mandatory on Muslims only if they can afford it. On the other hand, if the subsidy is provided, the ones that do not have enough money, will be able to manage the rest of the money to spend in airfare, boarding, and other expenses. This money goes directly to the Airline and Travel industry and in turn to the economy of the country. So, it is not that the Govt is providing free ticket to Muslims for Haj. It is because of the win/win situation for Muslims, the Govt, Airline and Travel industry that this subsidy is provided. That is the truth!!
PS: Muslims pay a lot of tax too. And their tax money is also involved in the subsidy!

u all are talking like this, out of 100 crore population how many has been played in grand slam. reaching there itself is a big achievement. In india people can worship only sachin & sourav.
India and sports-What a joke. This country of 100 crores hardly has any worthwhile sportsperson. Time SC/ST OBC reservations introduced even in this,.hahaha

Please do not comment untill unless you have achieved in this area ..I mean in Sports..rather ..we should lear to encourage her(or such sportpersons) We are proud to have Sania in our country..
Sania can give press conferences. She has a won a few matches of opponents equal to her or in some case they were having a bad day. There is nothing more to it.
She never was the best player in the world, and might never be one..not every player can be top-10. so whats the big deal if she lost... but yes, what has her doing ADs got to do with her performance in Tennis? What she does in her spare time is her business...right? did Sania ask for so much attention? She gets ADs & spotlights because she is the best female tennis player from India till now, and yes...good looking too So why should not she earn some extra money while she can wouldnt people blasting her do the same if they get the chance?? so isnt it plain public jealousy with a Celebrity??
Whatz new about sania losing in the second round. Thatz quite common by now. She is atleast a few notches behind the top 50 competitors. Its time she spends more time on the net than on endorsements. Also, the only thing consistent about Sania is her inconsistency on the court. Today she is invincible, tomorrow she plays worse than the girl next door !..Have i heard of the term "inconsistency" before ?. Ofcourse, its the middlename of the Indian cricket team !!. Wake up dear sania..Please show commitment.
Yes, she can win a grand slam ...but for that to happen she should be the only one playing the tournament...jokes apart, she can still win...but her entire game as to improve serve, volley, backend, etc....so she has to work hard..really hard!!
