Sania Mirza is no better than Anna Kournikova.. Their mistake: Hunger for fame through any means - not necessarily through excellence in their profession!
I would put the blame squarely on the media, and also on our sports authorities who have spoiled her for good! I still fail to understand what the necessity was, to confer Padmashree on her! And the media cameras clicked and whizzed away on her physical form even while reporting her very mediocre performances obscuring fantastic performances by other Indian sportspersons!
It is very sad that although extremely talented, Sania does not realise that the public flocks to see her rather than her game, and that she should let her raquette do the talking rather than her tongue! She should model on Sachins than on Souravs! The sooner she understands that and starts concentrating on her game the better it will be for her and the country's sporting future!
Anyway, here's wishing that we will have more of Sainas rather than Sanias on our sports horizon!
You couldn't find any World class Tennis player in 100 crore populous country, probably we could find one in either in Cricket or in Chess. Since, science proved that Dravidian geans do not have the athelit geans. Sania has been doing some what that can be done by her (we & media couldn't play). Her past performance was best when she won the Titles. Then, Media made our expectations VERY high. This is one of the BAD criteria that is following by the media in India. By seeing this, we shouldn't expect the same from her when she is not on the TOP gear. She is doing her best. Since, Tennis is an individual game. Player knows all the pros & cons. Since, Indian Tennis Association or any other GOVT org is not contributing her to participate in the World-class tennis events. She or her sponsers are doing it. She has been getting the sponsers because of us(People and MEDIA). So, she should give 100% effort all the time. If not, her career will go end. But, we need to blame the MEDIA making this as a BIG issue or FLAME.
It only shows that Sania has no consistency as per Indian Tradition. The trouble is that she never learns from her mistakes and she and her coach do not make any SWOT analysis of her style of play

yes Prabal .... go and adore the cricketeers who are placed 7 out 12 teams playing it ... Sania is placed 53 out of 2000 players in teh WTA .. u should be proud of her and not the underseving cricketes ... anyway cricket isnt a sport anyway ... its just a humbug
Sania forget everthing whatever happend in past, So think possitive & practice hard for future, this is main problem with us that we lose our temperament very soon, we should keep possitive thinking, sania keep it up we want to see you no. 1 Tennis Player in the world.
Why are we so surpised that an unseeded player (world number 53) is out of a grand slam tournament in the second round? And why are we talking about her anyways? There are 52 others (at the moment) who are more worthy to talk about. PS: Most of them are younger and more attractive too.
