Appologies
by Sunit Kumar on Apr 10, 2007 06:03 PM  | Hide replies

My appologies for using certain abusive word, but i am frustrated at the point every tom dick haris make that we need to FEED THE POOR FIRST.

How can you feed the poor, if you dont give the poor JOBS, if events like F1 can bring in Jobs please bring in.

Please forget about Global Warming, right now India needs only development and that too fast !!!

Dear Buddy,

Am really suprised with my fellow country men issues! people talk about Jobs for the Poor, Improve Infrastrusture, etc., but the same people pull our own Nation Down!

1.Singur - Political Mafia playing down Growth, it can create 1000's of Job (Direct) and several 1000's indirect. Will Bring Infrastructure....

2. Indonesia's SEZ.. our govt? they try... but people should cooperate....

There is another Mafia - Quota.... god! how Developments?

Lets us support our nation, we are one of the fastest growing powers... F1 can certainly bring Jobs, money and reputation! but Delhi can host just one event a year!

But Industries like Tata small car, SEZ can bring permanent Jobs! developments! exposure!

Lets try and support whoever does something good for the nation and people!

How can one relate F1 races to Global Warming,
Poor and rich and development in India. Jobs can be created by any industry provided the sincere efforts are put by the project developers. Otherwise as usual in India it keeps on going for years together forcing the job aspirants to get frustrated.

infrastructure
by rayker rayker on Apr 10, 2007 05:58 PM

infrastructure is the ned of the hour, india is still not up to scratch according the F1 bosses. apparently, we have been late entrants to the development party. nothing worry though, just that in or rush to develop we dont need nandigrams.

F1 is the testing place for new automobile technologies. Will surely help India to move up the value chain in this sector. Can move beyond manufacturing.

No offence, but one question to you, where will you run those cars with new automobile technologies, on F1 track. think over it.

if im not wrong, and if you havent been reading it - the f1 technologies trickle down to all the cars that have been driving on the roads. the f1 tech pushes the limits of everything from tires to engine to everything in a car. i guess there are a lot of positives from such a move. esp tamil nadu being a hub of automotive industries, maybe thats a good place to start with. we really do not have the depth in automotive technology, F1 is an excellent showcase for such a purpose!

Not necessarily in India. Industries like automotive or aviation consist of a network of multiple value chains across the globe. One has to find a place in the chain and take advantage

Not a fair comparison
by Malyaj Kaloni on Apr 10, 2007 05:24 PM  | Hide replies

F1 should be treated like what it is - a sport. It is not fair to say that we dont have good roads so lets not have good F1 roads. It is not a question of This OR that. Just like a pitch and outfield is needed for cricket and a court for tennis, you need a track for F1. While constructing a cricket stadium we dont say that farmers landholdings are shrinking and here we are making stadiums. Ultimately a venture has to be profitable and that's what it should be judged on.

Day and night matches consume so much electricity. Do we need them? Right, fuel prices are rising all the time. That's what i said, ultimately ventures like these should be profitable and self sustaining and ideally bring benefit a large no. of people, not just handful of organisers and administrators. F1 is just one issue, the point is we should not have have knee jerk emotional reactions to things. And if such ventures are largely private funded, it should be left to their judgement. Personally i find F1 very boring but someone may see a good business opportunity in it.

We dont need IT, F1, etc nbut we need food for the hungry people in India. Can we solve poor mans hunger by giving a computer or a ticket for F1? Guys, think about it. Media shouldnot focus much on these issues

I do agree with you but its not totally correct, is tourism the only way to improve the peoples lives. All countries would have focusedonly on tourism. There is need for another green revolution in India to combat drought and make farmers happy

There were years I watched every race of every season. But lets put it , its just a bunch of fast cars going round and round around a track. There are fewer crashes and moments of sheer racing.I think it may be more exciting to see how Shumacher or Alonso drive a regular in peak time traffic in any metropolis in India :P

There is more to F1 thn just going round and round the tracks. if you watch closely there is hell lot of permutations and combinations when it comes to race strategy: fuel loads, pit timing etc. True it can be boring especially if you have a big divide amongst cars but this year should be thrilling especially among the top two.

dear franklin/vikram,
sorry to reply to your comments, but please could u correct your statements to such as "i got bored by the routine laps" rather than pulling down the sport as such. every sport has its plus and minus, its just whether "U" like it or not. please dont blame the sport as such, blame the persons who spoil these sports. its like u always blame maths, if a bunch of jerks say "1 1=11", dont u think u should kick the ass of these guys rather than burn ur maths textbooks.

Any man-made stuff now-a-days is against the law of nature. Kindly stop enjoying at the cost of nature or stop blabbering about the Himalayan Glaciers melting down, or Global warming
