England I always say is the most unlucky team and being and England fan,i am always disapointed that even though they play well, they lack a certain instinct to win matches,in my view they lack the team spirit and only depend on the individual wonders of players like Rooney

A TREAT FOR SOCCER FANS!

The match played between England and Portugal was the best you could hope to see in the world of soccer. It had al the ingredients of a perfect match. It was disappointing as an English fan to watch Beckam's kich sail over the bar n eventually The Portugese winnging...but, it was a win well-desereved.My congratulations to them-as a nation, as a team and as a host.Hope the rest of the games also retain the same interest. Goodluck for the Portugese and i hope they can win the title this time! Congrats Luis Phelipe Scolari! Win the successive title.

Portugal deserved to win

It was a great game.... but as an England fan, VERY VERY DISSAPOINTING. Missed Beck's remarkable free kicks. Speechless over his penalty kick. Where was our warrior Gerrard? He was not performing as usual, either. Though Portugal's winning was more on luck, we have to admit that they did play well. Sad to say, better than our England heroes. My husband and I were so dissapointed that we didn't sleep for the balance 2 hours after the match. We are now at work, only with one satisfaction... OUR FAVOURITE OWEN SCORED! (PLEASE COME BACK AS THE "WONDER BOY", OWEN. WE MISS U)

Scolari made mistake in first game against Greece but in second game he put the team like we(portugueses) wanted. Now the team plays well and are very confident.

Both England and Portugal are good enough teams to be in the last four. Organisers had indeed messed around this one. With England out, the very charm of the tournament has greatly diminished, least to say without Becks and Rooneys, etc.

Beckham sux

i think its time for people to realize wht a useless player beckham is. Whats the use of all the hype around him when he cant hit the target from wht...8 yards!

This shows the gulf of class between him some others like King Zidane.

Beckham is not all that he is projected to be. But at least he doesnt suck!!
He missed this penalty only because he tried tooo hard (if you can get what i mean!). Maybe the last miss was playing on his mind. He struck the ball too hard and placed it too much.
I agree that he had a really bad game. He was nowhere in the match.
But the crosses he can make, the free kicks he can take, his precision pin-point passes are unmatched in the world.
