Not acceptable . The essence of football is defeated as something fishy had happened . Football is a team game unlike cricket , so Greece's victory can't be compared with India's victory in '83 . Any real football lover who had wathched matches of Greece in this tournament might agree they neither have strategy , nor skill , nor compact defence and still they kept on winning matches after matches . I think they were exposed in their match with Russia .
Hearty Congrats to Greece for their unbelievable performance. Every team is underestimating Greece. Greeks are really LIONs. From 1st game I believe that Greece is the team who are going to WIN EURO 2004. They have solid unbreakable defence. Congrats to their Defenders for saving their goalpost and Congrats to Strickers for converting goals. Goalkeeper is also doing excellent Job. He helped greece to make dream true. Lastly The Angelos Charisteas, realy an Angel for greece. !! Huryeeee !!
Kudos to the Team-Well Athens would be reverberating with drum-beats-and what not...Cool custodian, superb team dynamic........Maybe the sticks tied together seldom breaks!!!!yeah its true
it was a great moment when greek lifted the trophy last night but a big question i would like to pose all critics is why were greece underdogs. this was their euro appearence after more than 20 yrs but why does history count in football when it does not in othr sports.u can see the example of west indies in cricket do they dominate it now just because they were champions in the past.Weren't the greece toppers of their qualifying group yet nobody expected them to win a single match in this tourney. U see the rediff poll and even after defeating potugal, france and czech they were given only 20% chance of winning the title.can somebody explain?
The way Greece was playing, really they deserve this win. Their defence and the mid field was the best in the tournament. Portugal, eventhough showed good performance in pervious matches, were looking totally helpless and frustrated as they were not able to penitrate in to the defence of Greece.
