anju

After watching her performance, I felt that she had the capacity to do better than 6.83 even in the first jump. After the first jump she needed encouragement and not criticism.

Good attempt!

Very heartening to see the performance by Anju. She may not have won a medal, but that she has given her best performance under so much pressure is itself a laudable feat!
Indian athletes will do better if money is invested in other sports besides cricket.

Congrats Anju...

Congrats anju for securing 6th position. Looking at India's bad performance after every 4 years, even Anju's name will be burried in the list of other names... Thats the sad part of the story and and 100% blame goes to media!

These people raise the issue which shouldn't have been and dont even mention some things. No one knows how these sports persons struggle with money to get upto this level. The govt. should provide sufficient funds to support quality growth in other sports but cricket.

Jai Hind!!!

Well Done Anju
by Amolak Singh on Aug 28, 2004 02:03 AM

Very well done.

Something came to my mind as I saw pictures of Anju and the Russian gold-medalist. The russian had her arms very straight pointing forward. Whereas Anju had her arms spread very wide and not pointing forward. May be someone should point this out to her. In any case, she has done very well!

Never mind Anju, U still made India proud! U'll get a medal next time for sure.Still a good performance.Hard work pays off sooner or later. We are proud of you. There was nothing pathetic in ur performance in contrast to the hockey team.Keep going for the way u r and carry on from strenght to strength. There's always a next chance.....which is waiting for u.

nothing less than 7.00 was required..and Anju , though best in India, could never achieve it.SO From Day 1 all the hulla goolaa was futile. if wishes were horses..
