in india,we indians say, that we never knew mr rathore. but does the same crowd fail to recognise that the media is too lazy to wake up to the winners of tomorrow.ex-toi sports a hotshot everyday, they print rumours of players affairs, like the mahima and paes split up just few days before the olympics.and mr paes was contacted just for the gossips.now, cant the media understand that these players are playing for our country and we are just diverting their sound state of mind to anger?mr sunil dutt has to know that he can welcome the indian team has to win first before he says that he will arrange a huge prize if the hockey team wins a gold.look at the shameful state of politics in indian sports!
It's a joy to hear the victory of an Indian at Athens may be the best part is that the media could not discover his greatness earlier- other wise it could have been spoiled by their intervention-pressure tactics
I am an Indian residing in China for past 3 yrs. Now when Olympics are going on ,i see the difference in these two countries. Chinese people are so internested in Games.Every one keeps eye on every sports event(not like indians who just watch Cricket ususally)..They know wel what's going on in Euro cup or Copa Ameriaca foot ball or Grand Prix,OR let tour the france, bycycle championship. I am surprised that people here know Leander paes and Viswanathan Anand well,Where as Indians hardly know any of the chinese champs in any game, though till now China is topping the Olympic Medal tally. Due to equal and wide popularity for all kind of sports events,Players also get media and financial suport from Financers, sponcers and fans......Apart from this the Govt. of China always takes preparation of Games as a matter of national pride, and no compromise is tolerated in training or performance.Almost no political figure in the Sports Administration. We must learn from China!Descipline honestly and hardwork along with interest and support can only get india some medals in future...For sure not Dirty politics.
How proud should every Indian feel about Rathore, who went unsung in the Sports world till the day he took his stands to get a silver medal at Olympics. These are the real heroes who make our country proud with their unmatched talent at the world arena. We should realise this and stop boasting and wasting our precious time in watching the colourful ads and interviews put the cricket stars. Not many of us would have seen the live telecast of the shooting event that has brought the silver medal to India and the name of our country in the medals tally list. Now the country feels proud to talk about him and his family. When there are cricketers who cooly walk out of their innings by just scoring single digit runs, but earning in lakhs for their celebrity status ,we spend hours before the tube watching the match, some even leaving their duty to win the bread for their families. why didn't we realise such hidden talents who were buried under the sands of lack of sponsorships, lack of government aids and public support. Let us realise this and not blindly go after the cricket stars alone, but encourage many more Rathores who are in the queue of getting a chance and shine for our country.
Stop being scavangers of news that keeps you guys in business. Now you guys will shred the Indian hockey team when they are back. If Lee and Hesh don't get the bronze, we would get all the gossip of why they were bad.
Major Rathore suddenly becomes news worthy because he won a medal. Where were you guys earlier to support him?....who knows with your support, maybe he would have brought home the gold.
Maj Rajvardhan Rathore has shown that one can achieve goals with determination and hard work.. age factor doesn't count and there is no dearth of talent in this country and its high time that indians wake up and see for themselves that cricket is not the only game....
Congrats chilly and it was a great feeling that i had met you briefly in 1991 in dehradun and that time also you were very much into sports and even in studies you were genius..congrats
