Good Work SAHARA
by Neeraj on Jul 09, 2003 08:11 PM

This is indeed a good work that Sahara has decided to sponsor the Indian Hockey Team, this would not only revive the National Game in India which is being oveshadowed by cricket but will also encourage new younger generation to take up Hockey... After cricket the only game which is popular in India is Hockey and hats off to Dhara India Parivaar for sponsoring the team

MALCOLM ALVARES
Thanks to Sahara and Mr. Subroto Roy.
by MALCOLM ALVARES on Jul 09, 2003 07:37 PM

Really. Sahara needs to be thanked a lot for taking up the sponsorship of the Indian Hockey team.

Though, the Parivar has taken the first step, it is the Hockey team and the officials that needs to prove the worth of the same. It's a long way to go for the Indian Hockey team before, we can say that they have reached the glory of the past.

It's just the begining and not the end. How they maintain and the consistency will prove whether they deserve a sponsorship or not.

Only hard work and dedication of not only the player's but, the officials too have to prove the work hard to reap the fruits of success.

We hope all goes well and we see more snaps and write-ups in local and international papers and News of our Hockey boys and not just cricket and cricket and prove that yes.... Hockey is and will be the National Game of India.... Bharat...

All the best and once again a big thank you to Mr. Roy for the gesture shown to the budding hockey team.

Regards,

Malcolm

At time when other Industrial Giants are just involved in money making with no concern for the welfare of the Country,Sahara had put an example to follow. After cricket it is now Hockey. It seems that SAHARA is the only SAHARA for every sports in INDIA.

Commendable Action !
Its good to know that finally some one from the corporate world has realised the importance of sponsoring the " National Sport" and that too for a long period of time.
This will certainly support the game and help in raising the standard of the game all accross the country.
Well done 'Sahara' for helping the game when most required.

Well done Sahara
by Ankur Gargi on Jul 09, 2003 07:14 PM

It is so nice to hear that Sahara has finally given "SAHARA" to beleaguered Indian hockey team. Although it is our national game, we were not able to find even a single sponsor. I believe if media covers the game at national and international levels properly, we have got a chance to do better. Plus we should be showing more national level games in all sporting disciplines to generate revenue for the players as well as the respective associations.
