It is since Independence.... started appeasement, Majority, Minority, Dalit, Casteism,Farmers, debt waiver, freebies....

at that time it was the need of the hour and not appeasement, we have come a long way to the current scenario
yes there would have been some misuse of funds, scams etc but you cannot call all these provisions as appeasement

What a joke, just concluded elections prooven that Indians want Free Money, let it may be in any form, like loan waiver, schlorships, then why crying for merit
Reservation without merit will destroy the development of the country and there will lot of migration of intellectuals to foreign countries. In education sector the effect will be disastrous. Brilliant students will be debarred from getting into teaching profession , leaving the jobs to less meritorious students.
The government 's proposal to provide reservation for economically weaker sections is only a political gimmick .It will create a lot of corruption to be in this category.It would be better if all reservations are squashed and only economically weaker sections should come under considerations according to criteria fixed by the government.

people will do manipulation in that also and will take undue benefits
It is bound to meet the same fate bcz:- 1.Reservations in Jobs were meant for the oppressed classes mainly SC/ST. 2.Reservations were not meant to alleviate poverty. 3.If The Govt.really wants to help the poor from the General category-They may give other incentives including 15Lacs in every acccount. 4.Total reservations cannot be above 50%.

economic poor means salary should be below -total family income should be below 300000/-rs then it is ok, and also till date they should not own house, this will work, and also son studying engineering father is retired or attained 60 and no income, then high priorrity, if both mother and father are not engineer then he should be given preference in iit nit, so many things, not 8 lakhs and 1000 sq house, basic critieria no house, total income below 1 lakhs and there should be quota in higher education iit, nit, iim
