Sabarimala
by RAJESH BHAT on Jan 18, 2019 08:03 AM

I stopped reading article's from Rediff and making comments. Because nowadays article's do not have any base on ground reality. Only some blind politics.

You cant interpret the data as you wish !

And....you have to read up in detail before you attempt to interpret data and draw your conclusions !

1. The vote share of 15 % in 2016 did not go to the BJP. It went to the BJP - BDJS coalition. The BDJS is a political party formed by the Ezhava leader Vellappally Natesan at the behest of the BJP to draw a part of the Ezhava caste votes. Out of the 15 %, more than 4 % was brought by this party for the alliance in 2016.

Unfortunately for the BJP, the BDJS is out of the alliance with it now and Mr Natesan is now busy cosying up to the Left front !

In fact, he even offered to actively co-ordinate the formation of the Vanitha mathil and was made one of the convenors by Pinarayi Vijayan and he contributed to the Mathil becoming a thundering success !

2. The 10.4 % vote share the BJP got in the 2016 assembly election is not the highest it got in elections in Kerala. In the 2004 LS election (with Modi unheard of and with only LK Advani coming on 2 half hearted low profile visits), the BJP won 11.2 % of the votes in Kerala !

There is more to data than you can presume with partial reading !

Oye ever stinking , dirty, jobless, useless, kalumal commie komaaaaaaaaaaali Buffoon, As per your habit no one can stop you from counting vote share of others but cna you inform what is the vote share of the party you blindly support on all India level ? Why they and their ideology is being rejected in this country almost everywhere for last 70 years ? Why they lost power in Tripura after a rule of 25 years ? What is their representation in both house of parliament ?

Its unfortunate that the people who are not connected with the sanatana dharma and knowing nothing about it like a blind man describing about the elephant are trying to ridicule the sentiment and belief of the Hindus are the main culprit of the whole issue.

The blind men's description of the elephant.
by Raj A on Jan 07, 2019 03:11 PM  | Hide replies

The entire problem was created just because of one thing: Improper and incomplete understanding of what Sabarimala is and what the whole issue is all about. Lot of people including foreigners have jumped in and started commenting. It like those blind men who described the elephant. Each to his own version. If you don't have adequate information on what you are writing about, please keep quiet.

People who claim to have knowledge have not been successful in convincing others why women who are menstruating should be kept out of Sabarimala temple.

ALL THE NORTH INDIANS INCLUDING THE SUPREME COURT JUDGES HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SABARI MALA. ADDED TO THIS IS ARROGANT AND DISTRUCTIVE CPI(M) RULE IN KERALA, IS RUINING THE HINDU FAITH. THE SUPREME COURT VERDICT IS NOT FINAL IN CASE OF FAITH. EVEN WHEN JALLIKATTU ISSUE CROPED UP THE VOICE OF TAMIL PEOPLE HAS PUT DOWN THE SUPREME COURT VERDICT. THE SAME YARDSTICK SHOULD BE APPLIED IN THE CASE OF SABARI MALA. SUPREME COURT HAS NO BUSINESS IN RELIGIOUS FAITHS AND ACHARAM PERTINING TO HINDU TEMPLES. IT IS REALLY VERY SAD TO SEE THE OUR CULTURE IS DESTROYED IN THE NAME OF SECULARISM AND WOMEN EQUALITY. ONE THINGS IS CLEAR, IF THE SAME TREND CONTINUES IT WILL BE DISTRUCTION OF HINDU CULTURE AND EVEN HINDUISM IN INDIA. THE IRONY IS NO HINDU IS REALLY BOTHERED TO COUNTER ALL THIS BY THE COMING TOGETHER LIKE WHAT TAMILS DID IN THE CASE OF JALLIKATTU. HOPE HINDUS NOT ONLY FROM KERALA AND FROM ALL OVER INDIA UNITE TOGETHER AGAINST THE EGOIST COMMUNISTS AND PUT AN END TO THEIR RULE IN ALL STATES IN INDIA

More than facts what is more important is how you read the facts.

The trend shows that BJP has been gaining voting percentage. Communists may win the next election or the one after but you can ignore the trend at your own peril.

The BJP has regained its old vote share, not broken new ground !

Perhaps in the coming years, with the votes of small segments of Keralites who might be persuaded to think religion first before anything else, their vote share may crawl up a few percentage points. But that is as far as it would go !

Anyone who knows politics in Kerala and who has been watching what young Keralites are talking about (it comes through in multiple forums, you know) will know that the BJP getting 30 percent plus votes or thereabouts (required to win a seriously significant share of the seats) is simply impossible in the foreseeable future !

In the 2006 assembly polls in Kerala, the BJP got 4.75 per cent of votes. The Congress’ vote share was 24.09 per cent. In the 2011 state polls, the BJP’s vote share increased to 6.03 per cent. The Congress got 26.4 per cent votes. In the 2016 state elections the Congress vote share shrunk to 23.7 per cent while the BJP’s further increased to 15 per cent.

You can interpret the data as you wish.

The fact that BJP has gone from 2 in 1984 to 282 in 2014 in Lok Sabha and CPIM's fall from 43 in 2004 to 9 in 2014 shows that BJP understands voter psychology better than CPIM.
