it seems that the writer is right

It seems except godbole is right, the SC, high courts are all wrong. One should know that the police have to follow due process of law and the court does that. As the arrests were done at the national level it should have been handed over to CBI or NIA to conduct the investigation

Why so swiftly court involved,as if they are going to hang same day if the court has not intervened. How before investigation court given decision ? Why court forget about killing of innocent persons, police person ? Why Rammandir issue is pending for so many years, eventhough it is simple case, who was first RAM or Babar & whose philosophy to damage temple or mouske ?

True... out of these activists three were earlier arrested during UPA regime....there was no such clamour..swift action....were kept in jail for 4 to 5 years..thereafter freed by court.... unnecessarily creating havoc....

but, please don't use guns to show your dissent
by OLRAO on Sep 03, 2018 02:06 PM  | Hide replies

Normal people which includes Govt. will be scared once you people use guns, vandalism; so, please don't use those and limit your dissent to words(whether speak/writeups/banners etc.). Thank you. And even you please don't use same power(guns, jails) once your are in power since you(communist) are doing the same in other countries in present and past.

Police should produce evidence in the court ASAP, especially when crimes like waging a war against the state are involved. One cannot sit on it for months because there is no evidence in hand and the police is still compiling the evidence. That is NOT how serious crimes should be handled by the police.

Produce the evidence to the Court ASAP and then let the court decide. Nobody will have any issue with that.

Given the record of political powers (especially BJP) and it's caged parrots and lapd0gs, one is sceptical about the motives of the police.

I hope police are on their job i.e. providing evidence to Court.

Who can stop the Police?
by Vijay Sahani on Sep 03, 2018 01:52 PM  | Hide replies

Madhav Godbole, ex Union hone secretary, seems to be suggesting that activists and perhaps media have the power to not let Police do their job. Who can stop the Police from doing it's job?

The question is not whether the Police is doing it's job or not? The question is whether the Police is doing it's job deligently without bias. And if not and they are trampling on the democratic rights of the people, then activists must raise a hue and cry and that is what democracy is all about.

Even if there is a "whiff" of injustice by the powers that be (including the police who are merely caged parrots) the media and activists MUST raise a voice. And THAT is exactly what is happening now.

When the Police is alleging heinous crime against respected activists (and yes people who one disagrees with can also be "respected" people), the onus is on the police to prove that they are acting without any bias and within the legal powers in a bonafide manner.
