If Rahul is a Kashmiri Brahmin.... So was Rajiv Gandhi....and Feroz Gandhi.....whereas, till now I thought Feroz Gandhi was from another religion.... Good to learn something new !!!
Religion is passed from generation to generation via sons....religion is never passed from mother side....Can somebody clarify this? I may be mistaken.

According to Manu, a Brahmin man can marry a non-Brahmin woman and their children will get the status of a Brahmin (in case the wife is Kshatriya) or intermediate status. But if any man marries a womann higher to his caste, it is considered as immoral and his children will be relegated to Sudra or Chandala caste.

However as per Indian Laws
"The case from the lowest court to the Supreme Court has started with the presumption by all the litigants and the courts, that in a legally wedded marriage, the child takes the caste of the father.

Religion can flow from either side depends upon the upbringing, however as per as per Supreme court in a legally wedded marriage the child takes the caste of the father. Also gotras flow through sons and not daughters. So unless Feroz Gandhi had a gotra, Rahul Gandhi cannot have one
By stating that Rahul is a Brahmin, the HHindu priest is indirectly certifying his eligibility to the post of PM, because 90% of the time Indian PMs were Brahmins.
People in the lower rungs of caste system want to retain their identities because they want to use reservations.
People in the higher rungs of caste system want to retain their identities because HHinduism assigns them high status in the social order based on their birth. I am not criticizing the Brahmin here, but I criticizing the caste system. I also understand that due unchecked reservation system, poor but intelligent Brahmins are pushed into disadvantage.
Right Wing HHindus want to retain caste identities because they believe the movement birth-based caste system collapses, HHinduism would collapse.
Low caste representative parties want to maintain caste identities because it was necessary to get reservations also to bolster their vote-banks.
We are between the Devil and Deep Sea. We need a now a radical political party that will do away with this caste system gradually, systematcially but decisively.
The unnamed priest will be the next CONGRESS candidate from Pushkar. Let's see how Jyotiraditya will now defend his statements about Colleges and hospitals only for Muslims. These guys are a 'nautanki' drama group with no script, song or ethics. Khangressi RAGAmuffins
