Parents should teach their wards to respect girls. Strict vigil should be maintained this is the only way rapes can be reduced. In Telangana parents are jailed for giving vehicles to minor children, so far many parents are jailed this is a lesson for both children and parents.

I don't know why the media is making it look as if the MLA has said some unspeakable. I totally agree with what the MLA said. It is failed parenting that leads to children going astray. The young minds are malleable. They get easily influenced by movies, media, youtube. Mobile phones were good as long as they were limited to calling, now you have all the dirty things in the world in your palm and these minds just cannot hold back the lure of them.

and be responsible and accountable. if parents cannot be responsible, then should be prosecuted. most of the parents do not teach their children the right things. they think it is fashionable to modern without knowing what it means to be modern.
Frankly speaking, I am an ancient man with limited understanding of many things. But I am very modern in my outlook and approach. But these children do not understand, because their parents do not know anything. when things go wrong, they cry rape.
i feel the MLA spoke as a parent and he is absolutely right in what he said. Parents must have control over their children and must keep a close watch on them and their activities.
Well the ruling party is advising people what they should wear, what they should eat, where they should go, what they should worship, what equipment they must posses and many more. Well hope the ruling party sends its MLAs and MPs to Saudi Arabia where there is instant ruling for Rape and punishment so sever that no one in that country would ever attempt the crime.

saudi arabia is a place where most rapes go unnoticed. very few comes to light.
mere punishments will not stop a rapist. what about parental responsibility? not just about the parents of the girl or victim, but also the parent of the boy/rapist. what kind of culture is that parents teach their boys at home that leads to raping? its the callous attitude of the parents that is responsible for these. administration is certainly to be blamed for delayed action once the incident is reported and the delay in delivering justice and punishment. Before that comes parental responsibility.
The MLA has merely pointed out this as a parent himself. Understand that first. Saudi Arabia and its punishements are secondary as this is India and it has its own rules and laws. Do not mix up the events. to change laws it will take years.
Prevention is the best way. Being cautious and precautions to be taken comes first.

you admit inspite of being fully covered in burkha, rapes do happen in saudi arabia. every year large number of rapes do happen in saudi, many are beheaded. very few rapes are reported. that does not mean everything is ok there.
