Some way or other they want to survive. Hence this alliance drama. Both are not nationalist parties and are corrupt to the core. People are fed up with them. If kept away from power for few more years, these parties ( SP & BSP ) will die and it will will be good for the nation. Use less parties and useless leaders.
You are liar w/o providing proof that SC & OBC 's are marginalised by upper caste. Overall upper cast votes are hardly 10 to 15% than how BJP comes in power with thumping majority of 75%? Redif should not publish such article w/o get into verification of the matters. Survival makes SP and BSP strange bed fellows. Thsi type of shock is needed for BJP which was overconfident.Now that Yachori has to tell EVM's are tampered in these by polls.Will he?These are the type of netas who are aspiring to to rule the country.
The primary presumption of most among the so called upper castes is that their caste tags set them apart from the so called lower castes.
And the primary basis that most among the so called upper castes like very much to believe uniquely defines those upper caste tags is raxcial identity !
In simple words, most among the so called upper castes (whether in north India or in many parts of south India) fondly hold on to their self delusion that they are all descended from a distinct ^Aryan^ raxce which is defined by very fair skin, acquiline features such as prominent thin nose, thin lips, broad forehead, straight hair, etc ! They keep deluding themselves that they are all drawn from some mythical ^superior^ set of men and women who came to India thousands of years ago and single handedly created a ^superior^ civilisation here !
They have long convinced themselves (and they shut their eyes and ears tight to even the most in-your-face kind of evidence to the contrary) that they stand distinctly apart from the native raxces of the Indian sub continent who were present here before their mythical and very distinct forebears arrived all those thousands of years ago
They are also very clear in their belief that their ^superior^ forebears never mixed or raxped or were raxped by or intermarried with any of the ^dark skinned, flat nosed, thick lipped, curly haired^ ^draxvidian^ raxces endemic to India all through those thousands of years !!

But......these so called upper castes......
the great majority among them in much of north India (except in the north western states of Punjab, Haryana, H.P, Kashmir, etc) and in almost all of south India........
they too are dark skinned (or wheat skinned as they like to couch it) or sometimes very dark skinned.........!!
they too have thick flat noses !!!
they too have thick and segmented lips !!!
they too have round bulging faces instead of the long acquiline ones they like to imagine they have !!!
A careful look at many of those Sharmas, Mishras, Trivedis, Dubeys, Choubeys......and those Iyers, Iyengars, Raos, Charis (even more problematical) would immediately bring home the fact that they are little distinct from the so called lower castes they take great pains and go to great lengths to pretend and announce as being radically different !!
In other words, most among the so called upper caste people of India think they are as fair skinned and as acquiline featured as a significant proportion of the people of Haryana, H.P, Kashmir, etc even while actually being wheat skinned, thick lipped and flat nosed !!

Few politicians India really want to uplift the poor and downtrodden, but most politicians want to use the poor and disadvantaged as material for political manipulation.
SP only Yadav and muslim party, BSP only dalit i.e. too for few party, both are non secular, black money makers and extortionists. Good for the people if they win, we are tuned to live in this country with prejudice and bias from 1950 onward.
