Terrible Terrible Terrible..This MUST stop. DG Prisons cannot do anything,SP do not take note of the same..Then who will initiate to STOP this barbaric act ??? Even for the High Court/Supreme Court to give a verdict,some one need to file a case..What a sorry state of affairs..
Is this the only ritual to be banned in India? Their several at each and every state, city, towns and villages. Full of useless rituals in the name of blind faith.
I am not aware of this custom. I am not aware the impact of this practice on community at large. I am not aware the quantum of this ritual. But why the same parameter is not applicable to other communities where in the name rituals as preached in religion whole body is turned in BLOOD by chain and blades and that to in open and in front of general public. Can anyone imagine the impact on general public of different faiths? Is it not necessary to understand the logic from the temple authority before we come to any conclusion? Otherwise these so called social workers will take objection on "Ear and or Nose Piercing" ceremony performed in Hindus for new born baby.
This superstition should be banned immediately & those harming the children including the parents should be jailed. This perverse religious practice in the 21st century is abominable to say the least.

This is crelty to children and those involved should be booked and punish. The most culprit is the man pierce the hook to the children body; who deserve the stringent punishment what allowed for the crime.
Well Said by Jail DIG. This practice should stop. Why hurting children in the name of practice and religion? Hinduism does correct its old practices and this also need an immediate correction.
