It is wrong decision to open Military cantonments for general public. It will certainly be serious threat to the residents and other security measures.

I, as a Citizen of India fully endorse this view point as expressed by Author. Please Do not allow Civilians /Indian Politics / Politicians to take control of Armed Forces. If it is even attempted, it shall be un-pardonable step for Country. Indian Armed Forces are very actively protecting and full of patriotism.

Army personnel that save the country from enemy attacks, get killed by miscreants/ terrorists in the cantonments/military establishments. Why? Is it because of the visits of Narendra Mody to foreign countries!
What Brigadier has mentioned is true to the core. It is purely politically incorrect decision taken by the Defence Minister of the country to please public for getting the votes. The decision needs to be reverted back. It is the defence personnel who are guarding the country so that the citizens live peacefully. So many attacks are taking place in J
"'It's doubtful if serving defence personnel and their families will retain their faith in this government if such gimmicks allowing political considerations to over-ride security issues are allowed to prevail,' warns Brigadier S K Chatterji (retd)". This is what happens when Modiji puts a civilian lady to head the Ministry of Defence. I hope better sense will prevail on PM Modi who has no time to look after the country but likes to tour all over the world canvassing business for Adanis and Ambanis.

Partly agree with the writer, it is prejudiced, in democratic country movement of civilians in normal days cannot be controlled particularly when civil life has come so close to cantonment. Actually with increase in population, cantonments needs shifting from present places, new areas are to be found to make new cantonments, when it will be done, govt. will decide.

Where is the land? Increasing Population pressure must not be allowed to destroy serenity of our cantonments which are oasis in the desert. Democracy? Is it so? Nothing but mobocracy in India. If we allow politics to percolate in cants. It will be a big disaster. Let it should have limited democracy only like Singapore. Here, illiterate masses are so in disciplined that we need some one from Military to discipline us. Doon City, I, too visited sometime in Year1966 and Whatever description has been given now has destroyed this beautiful town. Another menace is e-Rickshaw which run amok in Delhi as there is no Registration. Our Defense Minister must not destroy our Cantt. Towns atleast.
I request the Defense Minister to keep aside her pride and listen to the voices and see that the cantonment are kept untouched and leave them as it is. Kindly do this otherwise people who have reposed full confidence in this MOdi Governement will loose that.
