Pranabda has been very mature in his speech and called for nationalism and patriotism without stouching upon ideologies of political parties. I salute him for that I dare Rediff to also publish the speech of RSS sarsngchalak. It is a pure call for selfless service to the nation.
Only way uplift weaker sections & also give merit its place 1. Remove those whose parental income is more than Ra 30,000 pm (take home) from SC, ST and OBC reservns. 2. Gov employees who do not undergo sterilization after 2 kids will lose his job (FC, SC, ST or OBC). 3. Remove those whose parent’s total market value of property is more than Rs 30 lakhs from SC, ST and OBC reservns, list them under FC. 4. Remove criminal communities with money-power & muscle-power like Jats, Gujjars, Yadavs, Patels, Modis, Jaiswals, Kapus, etc, from OBC reservns. 5. Put restriction that a person can use reservations only 4 times in his life time: 2 times in education (means he can accept a seat 2 times in education--Grad or PG), 2 times a govt job or promotion. After a person gets a govt job or completes a professional deg (Engg, Doctor, MCA, etc), the children of the SC / ST will be promoted to OBC and the children of OBCs will be promoted to OC / FC. 6. Once SC, ST or OBC promoted to FC, they cannot go down, can only move up. 7. All SC, ST students and govt employees must take at least 2 special English and Mind-developments tests, pass at least once every year, failing which their reservn certificates will be on hold; and gov employees will get penalty decrements. All those passed must take confirm-tests to make sure they did not cheat. 8. Fix reservs at SC: 15%, ST: 5%, and MBC: 20% (only Most Backward Castes will get reservs). Leave 60% for merit.
BRITISH RULE WAS THE GOLDEN ERA IN THE INDIAN HISTORY!

British modern medical services reduced death rate and increased life-span. 4. English language helped India to become a global tech & educational power, in spite of some shortcomings. 5. British rule considerably weakened the barbaric caste-system, superstitions, ignorance, etc strongly rooted in Indian psyche, though remnants remain. 6. No doubt Hinduism is the most secular, literature-rich religion, but Indians live in constant delusion—believing ancient Indian literature has all sci & tech; in 2000 BC, 90% were literate & rich; Indian economy 27% of world economy in 1700, etc. These are all lies invented by scoundrels to fool Indians. Before the British, Indians were living in poorer & pathetic conditions. INDIANS SHOULD CULTIVATE SCIENTIFIC THINKING
Nation state is a western concept and applicable to one language one religion one culture in one geographical area in which other languages and cultures are subsumed or eliminated to create a uniformity based nation. it is not possible to do similar concept exactly to india. the very fact that multiple ethnic cultures developed over last 5000 years shows uniformity never worked. we have to redefine our nation concept distinctly different from western concept and based only on indian conditions .(bcos our cultures took root when no other nations existed and) so we cannot apply and impose later developed principles of other nations. this is were the RSS needs to redefine its idealogy to suit indian conditions .....
It was a very good speech given by Mr Mukherjee and scripted very diplomatically not leaving much space to controversies. He talked about harmony among all. The people of the nation crave for the harmony. But the hindrance to harmony is the appeasement. The policies created over the years have divided people in religious and caste lines. Some policies give special status to some religions and poured them with subsidies, and facilities. Obviously those who do not get those privileges will be unhappy and angry. The solution to harmony is to treat all religion and caste equal and the government should have one aim of uplifting the economically weaker sections than appeasement in the name of minorities. Some of the minorities are majority in some states, and the majority is a minority there. So We should consider the poor below poverty line as the minorities and give them a helping hand instead of dividing the society on religious and caste basis.

To effectively do what you suggest, the first major step required is land reforms and re-distribution of excess farmland held by a minority to the landless majority !!
Everything else (including dismantling of caste based reservations in education and employment) can and will follow as the primary reason for the setting up of reservation - poverty - will be adequately addressed if land re-distribution is done !!
with sanskrit words and phrases, the RSS, is in essence, merely a diversionary tool to hide the concentration of wealth in the hands of a privileged minority while the majority in North India leads the lives of pixgs !
The RSS exists essentially to perpetuate feudalism and steep social hierarchies in one way or another !

No social work requires arms trg. and Swami Vivekanada never propagated self protection but self confidence. We should have faith in police and army to defend civilians. If the fellows joining RSS for arms struggle better join police and defence instead of adopting failed students' dogma.
