Giving Freedom to Indians is Like Giving Mirror to a Group of Monkeys
When we give a mirror to monkeys, they will start fighting: ‘I want to see first, no I want see first.’ They end up fighting among themselves and then at end up breaking the mirror into pieces, besides injuring themselves.
Instead of taking freedom at Midnight on Aug 15, 1947, Indians should have taken freedom in parts allowing British stay in India for a few more decades and then gradually taking power, as it happened in the case of Canada. Partial independence to Canada by British was started in 1945 and it was complete only in 1985.
What freedom India got? 1 million died in communal riots during 1946-50. Nothing good happened. No significant difference. 70 years after freedom, we are still begging, struggling, whining. Caste disparities remained, poverty remained, reservations are being enjoyed not by the poor but by the wealthy criminals from better off communities …, 90% politicians & lawmakers are criminals, and the list of ignominies and shameful things is endless.
