When it comes to saving the citizens from disasters, it is the army who is in the forefront and for them the country is one and if any such disaster happens weather it is in Kashmir or in Kanyakumari they come for rescue within no time even though their primary responsibility is to safeguard the Country from external enemies. Nobody else is upkeeping the Spirit of the nation other than our Army. Hats off.

What about consumption of animal products like eggs, milk, ice cream, cream, yogurt, lassi, ghee, buttermilk ? Ban this first, there wont be any animals for the butchers. Problem solved that is if we can kill plants instead.
Some of my friends, specially close to CPM ideology and are from Kerala, are biggest haters of our ARMY. I have read their pots on their FB, with Guha, spreading venom about out ARMY. KUDOS to Our HEROS

Was it supposed to be a joke ? The country is mourning the dead, and some politicians find its the right time to celebrate.
I am not from Kerala but I want to thank all the army personnel who participated in rescue operation of the stranded victims of Kerala. You are great, India and we are proud of you. No words can thank you enough.
as well as newspapers such as The Hindu and Mathrubhumi have described the flood relief work of the Kerala state govt as exemplary and unprecedented in the history of independent India in terms of extent and depth. The Hindu has opined that the Kerala govt has marshalled its limited resources so admirably well that its stock has gone up sharply among the flood affected themselves, besides winning praise from a wide spectrum of society.
Apart from the state govt machinery, the general populace too responded so spontaneously and so selflessly that the death toll in this once in a century extreme climate event - that brought a 164 percent increase in the seasonal rainfall and causing 33 dams to be fully opened simultaneously (besides 72 major landslides) - caused less than 400 in human casualties. Going by what has happened in other states in the wake of climate events half as extreme, the death toll would certainly have been several fold had something remotely similar occurred in those states.
However, the more remarkably unique feature of Kerala has just started unfolding.
In most other states, especially North Indian ones, devastating floods invariably bring a big spike in the death toll in the aftermath due to the outbreak of contagious diseases such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery, etc. Matters on this front are anyway dismal in North India in normal times (more than 2000 children below the age of 5 die EVERYDAY due to dysentery in North Indian states against virtually

It is here that the relatively far better developed public healthcare system and the far superior levels of awareness about diseases and personal hygiene prevalent for long in Kerala come so conspicuously into the limelight.
Trust Keralites to ensure that water and contaminated food borne diseases would claim very few or no one in the coming days and months !
