politicizing Congress
by Nitesh Kansara on Sep 07, 2017 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

I feel sorry about what happened to her.
But political parties are politicizing this heavily.RaGA, BRINDA, Manish and many mor Journalists ( so called) blaming BJP, RSS and even our PM. I feel this is immature act and it shows they have no wisdom and no responsibility. RaGa said PM has not made any statement and his statement has two meaning.....how cheap RaGa is talking!

In to-day's news paper I read that this journalist is convicted for defamation and is on bail. If that is so, freedom of expression is defaming someone ? Journalists should also have ethics and discipline in expressing their views. In today's journalism, the main moto is to ridicule others and to be in news so that their articles sell. This is not sincere journalism. It is always fooling the pe4ople in the name of curbing freedom of expression. If a person( whether journalist or a common man, it is the state government to look into in and take action. But some of the media is out to blame even the PM. On one hand the same media says states should have full power, and on the other hand blaming the centre even for silly law and order situation. Rediff will be reluctant to post it.

If she did something wrong there are courts to protect the person defamed.

BTW she had printed articles on 2 BJP MLA, INCLUDING EX Karnataka BJP CHIEF, ON THEIR CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES.

Now, the brother has acknowledged that she was getting threats from the Naxals. Seems to be a multifaceted personality. May be a news to RAGA also...but carry on blaming the opposition for anything and everything.

Gauri Lankesh - Murder of dissent
by B B Sharma on Sep 07, 2017 10:07 AM  | Hide replies

I strongly condemn murder of Gauri , in fact murder / violence of any form or for any reason . Honest journalism in India has always been a hazardous enterprise .Gauri Lankesh has set an inspiration example for other upholder of just causes. Her message is clear : stand up for what you believe in , regardless of the consequences.
WE as a society have to decide whether we have to allow a free run to exchange of ideas or to extremists & gun - wielding thugs .

What she was doing was not illegal. It's her constitutional right to speak as she wishes.

What the perpetrators of the crime did was illegal and criminal.

I'm amazed that the so-called educated people can make such mindless comparisons.

when is crook is killed few people are supporting and few are opposing . Think if crooks are supported and supporters are killed crooks feel insecure in this country. Is this the way you have to treat the crooks and desh drohis .This is an imbalance act. Cultivate the education system to help the crooks and anti nationals in name of freedom of speach.
