has inadvertently blurted out a truth !

But it was not just the Taj Mahal that was built on the blood and sweat (why did he miss skills ?) of those who toiled for it ?

Every large or not so large structure built in ancient and medieval times across the world (not to mention a large part of those built in modern times) arose solely on the blood, sweat and skills of the toiling underclasses !

And in most of the cases, the glory for the magnificence and grandeur of those structures was grabbed by those such as the kings and rajahs and sultans and emperors and other such vermin who had little role even in the conception of those structures !

Mr Baboon ought to have gone further and stated that it was not only the Taj Mahal, but also the Red Fort, the Brihadeswara temple in Tanjore, the Sun temple in Konark, the Meenakshi temple in Madurai, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Colossus of Rhodes, the hanging gardens of Babylon, the Great wall of China, the Machu Pichu in Peru and innumerable others across the world that were built entirely on the blood, sweat, tears, skills and dedication of horrendously exploited commoners !

Taj Mahal was sold to Rajasthani Seth.
by sunil Nayak on Oct 17, 2017 11:10 PM

There is also a story that Taj mahal was indeed sold by Bentinck to a Rajasthani Hindu Seth for 1.5 lakh. But when the Seth went to take the possession, Muslim residents around Taj objected to it and did not allow Seth to get inside. After this incident Bentinck came better prepared was ready to dismantle the whole Taj Mahal with the help of Army and was all set to sell the marbles for the same Seth for 7 lakh rupees. But later realized that cost of dismantling will be more than the worth of the marbles.Few historians contend this story and even say there was no real evidence for Bentinck ever tried to sell the Taj majal.
