Som's right: Foreigners built the Taj
by susarla suryaprakasam on Oct 19, 2017 11:20 AM

Unlike religious fanatics and iconoclasts, that destroyed hundreds of temples in India and abroad, the Hindu community never ventured to invade countries and destroy their monuments as given in History, may be exception is the old, dilapidated, un-used Babri MASZID. Hope nobody eyes for TajMahal, a monumental burial for the beloved, loved by all, like Victoria Memorial.

Origin of Taj mahal
by Vinay on Oct 18, 2017 03:24 PM

With all the noise about Taj Mahal being built by Shah Jahan, there is historical record of Taj Mahal being purchased by Shah Jahan from Raja Mansing.
There are seven floors in this structure. What we see from the front are three floors in marble. Four floors below are in Red stone. They are covered from the front side. However if one goes outside at the back these were visible from the Riverside till few years ago.
Large part of the Tructure has been bricked up to prevent entry. Successive governments in Delhi & ASI has repeatedly refused to allow any investigation of these closed areas.
Another interesting thing is the marble replicas of Taj, made by local artists. All of them show windows on the dome. No such windows are visible on the dome clearly indicates their presence earlier. Otherwise why would successive generations of artists continue to draw them on the replicas? The only possible explaination is their subsequent closure.
It is an engineering feat and must have required efforts of more than one generation. The most interesting part is the Foundation. To support the massive structure it is reported that 108 Masonry wells were used.
What is really required is the scietific exploration & Investigation of the wonderful structure.

has inadvertently blurted out a truth !

But it was not just the Taj Mahal that was built on the blood and sweat (why did he miss skills ?) of those who toiled for it.

Every large or not so large structure built in ancient and medieval times across the world (not to mention a large part of those built in modern times) arose solely on the blood, sweat and skills of the toiling under-classes !

And in most of the cases, the glory for the magnificence and grandeur of those structures was grabbed by the kings and rajahs and sultans and emperors and other such vermin who had little role even in the conception of those structures !

Adityanath ought to have gone further and stated that it was not only the Taj Mahal, but also the Red Fort, the Brihadeswara temple in Tanjore, the Sun temple in Konark, the Meenakshi temple in Madurai, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Colossus of Rhodes, the hanging gardens of Babylon, the Great wall of China, the Machu Pichu in Peru and innumerable others across the world that were built entirely on the blood, sweat, tears, skills and dedication of horrendously exploited commoners !

What difference does that make for the horrendously exploited labourers who were used to build these structures ?

ALL RUBBISHING GOING ON....

Like Ajodhya, Taj was built on a temple.
Dig and discover the truth.
A large number of Hindus gave their blood, sweat and life building it.
They are the unsung lot.

Your comment above is mere political linking a religion with that without any concrete evidence for this incident which happened some 4/5 centuries ago. While constructing various dams so many people lost their assets-so many villages are /were displaced for construction of dams, railways, Airports, Power Projects, Harbours and ports, SEZ and like that. Medha Patkar fought for preventing construction of Narmada Dam.
