Data collected for Census is confidential under Census Act, 1948, it cannot be shared even on orders of teh Court. Data under Aadhaar Act is not confidential.
Aadhar act is a necessary evil in todays scenario. Anti-Aadhar lobby is upholding fundamental human rights namely Right to life encompassing Right to privacy. Please remember, Individual rights must be subservient to idea of nationhood. While championing individual rights , we must not overlook the danger of collapse of nation state or its administration.
When the Food Corporation of India warehouses are overflowing with grain, both rice (bhaat) and wheat, an Adivasi girl child has died to non-availabilty of bhaat (rice) through the Public Distribution Services (PDS) of the Jharkand State. This was clearly due to the Aadhar messup, a clear violation of the Supreme Court orders. Governments need to be prosecuted for disobeying Apex Court orders.
The CPM-led LDF Govt. at Keralam was also seen as collecting Aadhar IDs for alloting ration cards. No Aadhar, no ration card even in CPM heaven Keralam. It is likely that the Kerala Govt. might have ordered cancellation of ration cards which did not have Aadhar numbers. The Jharkand Govt. as well as the Kerala Govt. stand in contempt of the Apex Court orders in WPC 494/2012. They need to be asked to recompense monetarily, in Jharkand, the girl child who died needlessly due to its carefree attitude, the Govt. needs to adopt the child's family thereby taking care of all their livelihood expenses.
Coercion of naive citizens in itself is an act of using "State Power" to achieve what the Govt. desires, as such the Kerala Govt. led by the CPM is in contempt of the Supreme Court of India orders in WPC 494/2012. It alongwith the Jharkand Govt. needs to be prosecuted because human lives are at stake, innocent people are dying due to their overarching powers.
