I have only one thing to ask the defence lawyers if they will support the rapists and defend them saying they are from poor family and have family etc even if their wife or daughter god forbid has to go through the same ordeal it torture or horror. Will they still stand by what they said

Why do we need courts and judges by the way? If as suggested by you we just get rid of defence lawyers then everything else will have to go too.
Poor background is not a tag mark to rape a girl and public pressure is ok in bad act. After all laws are made for goodwill and behavioural control of society. Even corrupt politicians and businessmen and blackmoney holders must get double or triple punishment coz more responsibility more punishment more benifits more salary more imprisonment is logical
rediff team ... tell lawyers that courts are meant for proper justification to public to provide safety & assurance to the people living in the country. After 4 years of deep analysis Lawyers cannot comeout with useless statements... Ask these Lawyers provide similar comments in Dubai & Saudi.
