We are hearing what we thought we will never hear. An RSS ideologue who believes in secularism. But then one realizes...he believes in no one but himself, intolerant of any other kind of thinking or existence. A truly orthodox brahman, the kind which perpetuated the system of varnas or castes.
Is it surprising therefore this same bunch of people ridiculed the concept of secularism, or the secularism of those who are not Hindus who think or talk like them !
It is apt to call these people a sect. Ever wondered why the sects appeared in the other religious philosophies ?
Religious plurality only will survive in the long run. The moment a religious monolith is established, plurality and multiplicity from within start rearing the ugly head. Why the constant de-stabilisation in the middle east? Root cause is Shia - Sunni conflict. Better India concentrated on results of development reaching all rather than appeasement of minority and majority.. When PV Narasimha Rao Invited A B Vajpayee, ruling party hardliners criticized.. Rao replied.. it an invitation for a statesman-- not a politician. Need of India is a statesman as leader.
