False quivalence
by Abhishek Thakur on Jul 31, 2017 11:49 AM

"A government can fall on an allegation of corruption, rather than on an issue of violence against vulnerable social groups."

It may be noted that in 70s, 80s and 90s, hundreds of people used to killed in riots, massacres and shootings. Now one person being killed at some place cannot be sold as a major problem however hard the English media tries to portray it as.

The most corrupt
by piri on Jul 31, 2017 10:01 AM  | Hide replies

politician today is Narendra Modi.

But his corrupt acts escape the attention of gullible commoners despite repeated news reports and CAG reports because the corruption is much more sophisticated compared to the corrupt acts of others !

For instance, a straight theft of Rs 950 crores by Lalu Yadav as commission in the fodder scam is easy to understand even by illiterate people.

But a theft of Rs 5468 crores from the exchequer by Modis chief election campaign financier, Gautam Adani, through evasion of taxes by round tripping his profits using the P-note mode of foreign investments from tax havens such as Mauritius is not only not understood by illiterate people, but not understood even by most literate middle class people, especially those in North India !
