Rediff is paid by PETA.

Stone pelting and rioting and burning of vehicles and police stations were done by police. You can check the videos in the websites as it media was not allowed to capture their arrogance, people took in their mobile

JALLIKATTU

Travelling by suburban locals is nothing but a cruelty and torture to an ordinary docile man. This activity must be stopped by him forthright. I play Jallikattu regularly at least twice a day, once while on my onward journey and then on my return one.
Can people join me, a docile human being, a grade higher than an animal in context of life, to file a petition in the Supreme Court to ban travel by local suburban trains, which are crowded beyond their legal capacity? This is a serious infringement of my right under our Constitution to live an honorable life. The Railways should enforce the limitation of crowd to the authorised carrying capacity of the coach. Then, you have the Ladies coach and that for Handicapped and Senior Citizens and Luggage, thereby further restricting the capacity for men. The next train follows in a few seconds. People can wait. Where is the hurry?
The Animal Welfare Board of India and the PETA are intentionally ignoring the above torture to docile human lives because humans cannot be classified as animals, or probably have better and traditional tolerance than animals. These organizations can afford to ignore the cruelty to mankind but not to animals.
After all the law of the land has to be honored and cruelty stopped.
Could the The Animal Welfare Board of India and the PETA consider me and my fellow passengers as animals and move the Supreme Court to restrain my travel ?

NGN your plight is created by millions of other docile men in other parts of India who breed progenies without restrictions( self imposed or by Law).
Due to massive unemployement, political and other corruption and many complex factors they turn up in thousands in metro cities and other cities clogging not only transport but housing and other civic amenities.
You will appreciate the bulls do not create all these and being dumb and unlettered unlike you needs intervention of Welfare institutions or the SC.

Yes sir, Welfare institutions are always welcome. But the question is of cruelty, not men and animals.
Whereas, slicing of the healthy bull's head in a slaughter house is purely for commercial gains. Automatic slicing is still more ghastly. The life of the animal is not abruptly terminated. It suffers the agony of physical hurt and separation from the body with a pool of blood surrounding the animal. This scene is gory and most uncivilized.
The AWBI & PETA are silent on this cruelty. Mercy killing is banned for humans. Why not for animals? MTP is also illegal ,unless under medical advice. But for animals it is OK. Is that so?
Can you ingest the meat of an unhealthy animal? Ultimately, you are slicing the neck of the healthy one. So is there no cruelty?

Jallikkattu can't be banned
by ganesh on Jan 24, 2017 09:29 AM

Supreme Court erred in banning Jallikkattu. They should have allowed with certain regulations. It is an emotive and sensitive issue . While millions of people support the sport only a handful oppose it. There is cruelty and torture in many sports like horse racing, boxing and wrestling etc. Are they not being allowed? Regulation is the need of the hour, not ban.

Bulls are killed by humans and men are killed by Bulls. Sports overtake legalities.

All these practices go in the name of Tamil Culture.
Tamil culture is very strong and old; I do not think that by bringing some measures in the sports this culture would suffer. Rail roko, pelting stones on the police etc are not promoting tamil culture. I hope good sense would prevail.

I agree my friend. But please also so the same to Horse racing. Please see how the Horse is tortured at the last part of the race , whipped so hard to run fast. Surely this is not with the Horses acceptance. Moreover this is done for gambling. Has PETA or anyone of you have the guts to ban horse racing...

I also request Mr Manoj Aswal to go and take videos and photographs of all the slaughter houses. The biggest cruelty is if course killing an animal for food...

I request rediff team to write positive aspects of every traditional things being practiced in India. It should have equal approach in reporting such traditional events but you are suppressing certain issues like torturing of elephants in Temple festivals of kerala whereas magnifies the issues related to jallikattu. Report the news without partiality.
