Keep off the details

If cruelty is the only criterion, then halal meat should also be banned. The Courts would do well not to get into too much details of what happens at village level in India, because that segment is not amenable to day to day supervision. It is also not the Courts' function to get into every little detail of cultural activity. They can prescribe broad guidelines to avoid cruelty in Jallikattu and leave it at that.Going beyond that will only encourage open defiance, similar to what has happened in Karnataka with the Cauvery waters release.

Briyani is better than jallikattu

PETA is more concerned about cruelty against bulls during jallikattu...
But what about hundreds of animals slaughtered for food by all people??? Are PETA members pure vegetarians???
Why PETA present worldwide, couldnot ban Bullfighting in Spain, where the bull is killed atlast???
All cheap tactics followed by some people (PETA) to destroy traditions of minority people...

Jallikattu

PETA must declare none of their members kill mosquitoes sucking their blood; because that is also cruelty to insects. Cow-slaughter, sheep, goat slaughter, fishing must also be banned as they too are lives. You can not eat vegetables and grains as they too possess life!!

Jallikattu of TN, Kambla (he buffalo race) of Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka are traditional sportive events which have been conducted from decades and centuries - much much before PETA came into existence. The decision of the Courts to ban it must also be questioned as to why these courts do not stop killing of other animals and lives for food.

If too harsh decisions are imposed on people disregarding their sentiments, tradition and culture, situation will turn into chaos, disobedience and even terror as the country is witnessing today due to various factors. While reasonable restrictions will be respected by anyone, going beyond a point in the name of PETA, Supreme Court order etc. is not correct.

Keeping pets at home also should be banned. There is no control on how people treat their pets. No one knows how much cruelty is being imposed on the pets

Ambika Shukla of PETA admits that she has never watched a Jallikattu performed. These are the liberal warriors hitting at cultural roots..

And in Bakri Id where lakhs of helpless goats are slaughtred

PETA sees no cruelty for they very well know what will happen if they approach the courts against the peaceful comunity

Why dont PETA also protest for similar events in Italy. Why they are being such a racist and see everything happening in India as bad and elsewhere its good. PETA are hypocrites and racist of the highest order. Period.
