India is equally unsafe for Indians
by Suresh Mishra on Feb 25, 2017 07:41 PM  | Hide replies

What happened was unfortunate but this happens in India also the only difference is that it doesn't get highlighted because local goons supported by corrupt politicians kill and bash our own citizens, atleast in US law enforcement agencies are taking action out here police will just put things under carpet.

Correct - You Don't Belong to USA
by Lowdekeball on Feb 25, 2017 06:09 PM

Never Expect Foreigners to Treat Indians as Equals - The Whites will be Racist & they have their own Culture & Superiority Both in Brains & Build as well.

I sure hope Every Foreign Country in The World Throws out Indians from their Countries with Proper treatment.

Those who Forget Motherland & go to Serve Foreigners for their Selfish needs should face the same fate.

Death of Srinivas
by omprakash phadnis on Feb 25, 2017 04:38 PM  | Hide replies

It is sad to lose her husband. But at the same time I hope she is educated enough not to talk rubbish of minorities etc in USA. One goes to other country to work for the sake of earning some extra money and the companies pay them well. An incident like this do occur. We should not hold US machinery responsible for it. I would have appreciated her if she had applauded the American who tried to pacify the issue at bar.The world has become nervy due to one reason or other and one can't help it. My personal sympathies are with Srinivas family. RIP Srinivas

Well, there are 2 reports that I have seen which strongly suggest that things really are no longer the same for Indian Americans.

These are

1. Report by a civil rights agency run by Indian Americans that there have been 914 recorded instances of raxcial bias, slurs or attacks against the community ever since Trumps election victory was declared. The agency adds that so many attacks over just 3 months represents a very steep hike over all past patterns.

2. Another report says that the 3 million strong Indian American community has started behaving in an unprecedentedly circumspect manner in general while moving about !

Obviously, Indian Americans in general, have started exhibiting the symptoms of a harassed minority in the US.

Most of the meritorious n India prefer going western countries coz of their recognition of merit for professional jobs, unlike in India where reservations of more than 50% in professional courses& jobs are done by caste and vote politics by successive gifts, but never bother to think over the migration of the intelligentia due to the circumnstances created by successive govts

At least the present govt having sensible/seasoned politicians like sushmaswaraj/manohar parrikar/arunjaitley/smrutiirani/rajnath should urge the govt to review the reservation policy implementation only on economic consideration and not on caste basis any further( as the very purpose of reservation on casts basis by constitution framers for 10 yrs stretched beyond elastic limit to 70 yrs.).

Why all these political parties who canvasses for rreservations on caste basis in admissions in highly skilled medical courses/professional courses and jobs of doctors too,why they don't want the same 50% reservation implemented for the parliame t/state assembly seats too? why for their medical treatment they don't prefer Indian govt doctors except reputed super speciality hospitals having the best specialists( on merit but not on reservation basis)& foreign countries where appointments done on pure merit basis

These are just excuses. I never had reservations and so did many of my friends. If you study well and work hard, you have enough opportunities in India and make it good. Of course, if you are lazy and dont deserve it, you will not have a good job or a good likelihood. That goes anywhere in the world. Some people deserve reservations because their communities have been marginalized for centuries because of caste system. If India grows economically and income gap between different castes decreases, then reservations will naturally disappear.

There Must Be Limit to Reservations . When Parents of a Reserved category have enjoyed the benefit & are in Well Paid Govt Jobs at Director , Secretary Level Jt Secy Levels , How come children of Such People be referred to as Marginalized ?? So the reservations also should not go endlessly If One or Two generations have enjoyed the Benefits & Are Well Placed where is the Question of Disadvantage ? Rather By Doling out Reservations to such People on Caste Basis is a Gross Injustice to Well Deserving & Meritorious able Candidates who might be much more financially backward . Time to Ponder & take corrective measures

Anybody Listening ??

Even in India, many people are killled everyday for several reasons like old enmity, robbery, political rivalry, rape, casteism, etc.

Simply because it happened in US, it is getting lot of attention.
