What a distraction !
by Bharat Kumar on Feb 09, 2017 02:01 PM

The government didn't know how to defend their failure in creating jobs. The only work that increased was cleaning streets, even that didn't create newer jobs, the existing bureaucrats and workforce did some work.

The leadership simply lacks the imagination to liberalize like PVN and Manmohan did, with a wafer-thin majority! Babri or riots, IT sector boomed with the dismantling or protection from license.

All that had to be done was to provide incentive to create jobs - companies which add a 1000 jobs given a tax holiday for at least a year, to motivate them to add more. Otherwise the tax collected just goes to pay the babus who do nothing but pick their noses and scratch in their pants the whole day !

Card vs Cash
by DIGAMBAR JOSHI on Feb 09, 2017 01:34 PM

Last month, I had withdrawn 10000 from ATM and the money used to pay milk, rickshaw, bus, vegetable and maid salary. Rest payment such as grocery, taxi, cinema tickets etc made by card. I found it easy to pay grocery bill of 3483 by card, since there was no cash counting. It took me two minutes to pay by card.

Rs 50 notes
by Geetha RM on Feb 09, 2017 01:02 PM

In one office of Professional Couriers they refused to accept a Rs 50 note because it was printed in 2011. Never heard of any such rule.

Soiled notes
by Geetha RM on Feb 09, 2017 12:17 PM

RBI is circulating old and soiled Rs 100 notes. I got a note which was full of red ink. Asking customers to go to their bank/RBI to exchange bad notes is idiotic. The government cannot make the lives of aam admi so miserable.
