What is stopping this govt from waging war against China & winning back the annexed territories. Criticising & abusing Nehru for everything are the present leaders USP.

but why was gandhi supporting nehru instead of Sri Sardar Patel is still an unanswered question. is it because both gandhi and nehru were given a larger than life by the press and they pledged their loyalties to the
british crown? can anyone clarify my doubt please?

Nehru's biggest blunder
by piri on Feb 03, 2017 12:26 PM  | Hide replies

does not require any classified files from the CIA for confirmation !

And that was his act of welcoming the parasite Dalai Lama and his followers in 1959 and offering them refuge in India when they came running to him !

Had he just politely declined refuge and asked the Dalai Lama to seek refuge elsewhere, the disastrous 1962 China war and the vexed border problems would almost certainly not have occurred at all !

Look what the hosting of this parasite (Dalai Lama) has brought for India :

1. An outgo of several hundred crores of rupees every year for the upkeep and welfare of the Tibetan community residing in several enclaves in the country

2. A perpetually hostile China that in turn led to

i) The 1962 war in which India was humiliated
ii) Seizure of several thousand kilometres of Indian territory by the Chinese
iv) An unbreakable bond between China and Pakistan (with the latter taking every opportunity to fully leverage it against India)
v) Due to the presence of two hostile neighbours, India has to keep squeezing its begging bowl size revenue year after year to overspend on its military, thus depriving vital human development sectors of much needed investments.

One stupxid decision......and a nation gets condemned !

welcoming dalai lama was a good step. india should had raised dalai lama issue agreesively in the UN nd other capitals. but the biggest blunder nehru did was recoqnising tibet as part of china making china party to border dispute. to be noted, india was the only country recongnising tibet part of china at that time.

India and Pakistan have always had near parity in military strength.

That was not the case between Israel and Iraq in 1984.
