As per my BJP was on disadvantage with 55 seats with out Modi. Congress had the chance to win because of 22 years anti incumbency and caste politics, patels were traditional BJP voters. BUT last 15 days swing in BJP favor because of Modi rallies. People voted to Modi not BJP.

its congress loss, they could have easily win this election with hardik, alpesh and mevani. patels who used to vote BJP was split this time every one did not go to congress.

BJP also failed to highlight few issues otherwise they could have won more seats. issues like Congress every india other states cursed gujrath, mocked guj voters. even in UP election akhilesh beside rahul said gujrath ke donkeys and other abuse of gujrath was not highlighted

In lok sabha, the patels will go back to BJP, atleast a good chunk of them. After all who would not like to be with the winner. this is just an analysis of human nature.

People voted for Modi not BJP in 2014 election also. Without Modi as PM candidate BJP would have struggled to cross even hundred.
BJP did not highlight the present prices of commodities with the prices between 2009 and 2014. None of the BJP leaders questioned the promises made by Mr.Rahul Gandhi, during the Gujarth election, as why he did not do at Karnataka where the Congress Govt. is ruling. They could have asked, why did they not wave the loans of farmers in Karnataka, why did they not lower the state taxes on Petrol and Diesel, why they did not make or maintain good roads in Karanataka and many such things. After getting 80 sets in Gujarath because of division among the castes, there will be a fear of disintegration of Hinduism because of Congress party. In Karnataka, Congress has already state division among Lingayath community. So, in 2019, this Congress will create young leaders offering hundreds of crores of Rupees, to divide the votes in sub-castes, again start the slogan of 'Secularism' and would tart anti-propaganda against the developments made by the BJP.
Different people had different prediction and so Mr Joshi which found correct doesnt mean he is a very good observer. Yes BJP is now in power in many states and 2019 anti incumbency factor will play some role, BJP to find new ground. But Congress will continue to suffer as the president is an idiot imposed on party.
I personally feel the above write up is biased as r=the writer seems to be Anti-Modi. Muslims have been given undue advantage at the cost of HINDUS under Congress,Mamta & Akhilesh,that is why Rahul visited Temples instead of Majars. He is fake personality.He cannot build nation as his intelligence is below par.
those who publish articles in rediff are useless comidian people. only the uneducated freebee loving people get swayed by castiest politics. Hardik is a fake who will be exposed soon. BJP under modi would go on winning Gujrat for many more years.
