Firdaus,

BJP got 49.5% votes, more than congress. Even today, if you take a popularity survey countrywide, Modi will is preferred leader by citizen. These are so called intellectual brigade who modi does not care about and all comes together to corner him. He is a hero for now with clear intention of taking our country to new heights.

Take away your black goggle, and also speak about Himachal, there the RG is routed badly

Medieval mentality

Many of our famed morons ( read columnists here) have the mindset of an ostrich . First they jump around and juggle with a load of meaningless cr$p called analysis and prediction. Then once the results turn out to be the other way ( which is more often than not), these guys resort to arguments - 'but see ? the vote share decline', 'the charisma faded', 'they do not like the pM' and so on and they goback to their holes to do some more research ( aka google search).

While I agree with the essence of your post by & large. Gujarat result is a serious wake up call for the BJP & Modi. If it wants to retain power in 2019, then the next 1.5yrs it has to been seen to trying to deliver on the unfulfilled agendas. There cannot be any 2 ways about it. Otherwise 2019 could be a tall order.

You may note that in UP, Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, MP, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra it has already peaked in may 2014. It will near impossible to achieve the same number of seats from these 8-9 critical states so losses would have to made up from other states. For that happen, jobs, agragrian distress, economy etc need to come out of the doldrums. A serious effort needs to be made for the perception to change.

According to my understanding demonetization and GST implementation requires lot of risk taking ability as well as huge guts to do good for this country as failure as well as issue will hit their image & government. Still present has gone for demonetization followed by implementation of GST by knowing his own state is going for election. We have to appreciate that commitment as gujarat is related to business, it would be having huge impact. Still gujarat has voted for BJP /Modi, it is great thing for 22nd year in a row. Congress has gone for Community Religion based alliance. If really congress wants to fight as genuine grand old party, it is to play as individual with their own strength.
99 /182 for 22 5 year is great...Country was waiting for such type of person for almost 60 years...I am wondering how loss of congress is being glorified ...I am wondering on our country people status as well as mentality...Grow up ...Jai hind.

They started this propaganda of Modi wave fading from 2014 winter. Its good three and half years. BJP winning pretty much every elections - including the municipal elections.

So either all election results are fake or the guy who predicted must be sent to rehab for substance abuse.

COme to think of it, there are a bunch of morons that rediff lets lose on its readers like clock work. They write laborious , meaningless bull cr$p searched and digested from google ( news aggregator sites).

BJP Lost?
by Balasubramanian R on Dec 19, 2017 06:57 PM  | Hide replies

Most of the people does not write or speak the truth about Gujarat Election. After Modi left Gujarat, there is a large vacuum for a charismatic leadership. Anandi ben episode is a mess. Then again there is no tall leader like Modi. After Modi's exit from Gujarat, everything is mediocore performance by BJP. Does any one think that, if Modi continued to in Gujarat, Cogress would have gained this much seat? If yes, why so much of NOTA? Many BJP leaders lost by some 2000 votes. It is not Rahuls elevation or canvassing or any other thing caused Cogress to emerge as largest opposition. It is just vacuum of Modi exit which made Congress as largest opposition

Bala you are partially right. Modis exit from Gujarat has affected the result. But still people have faith in BJP. Secondly what is being ignored is that its the 6 time they are forming the govt. Yes they need to tighten their belts as far as performance is concern. They do have leaders in Gujarat state.
