My advice
by Vijay Sahani on Dec 11, 2017 11:32 AM  | Hide replies

My advice to Rahul is to do what he believes in. Don't do something in a hypocritical manner.

One of the thing of Modi which appeals to many is that he is not a hypocrite. You may find him ugly but he does not tries to hide it.

Congress has a good philosophy (especially compared to BJP). Where they lost the plot is when they tried to appease vote banks, sanctioned corruption at all levels and outsourced governance to puppets.

But all these tricks were working during indira era, during rajiv era but now not working. Why? this is a million doller question which is revolving around papu. He is not understanding that people are not the same of those era's. Now media is powerful. People are having exposure around world. They are becoming aspirational. So, only performace & delivary of result will retain you in public domain. This papu is not understanding. The day congress people understand, then this fake gandhi family will be thrown to dustbin and others will take charge of party.

BJP, on the other hand, has a very myopic philosophy and has completely lost the plot when it comes to imposing Hindutva.

Few glaring inconsistencies in the argument
by Aravind Raman on Dec 11, 2017 11:08 AM

With due respect to Shekar Gupta, who is a big name in journalism, I have following points for consideration:

1. While I am fine with his observations on Indira era, it was Rajiv who anticipated the rise in Hindu nationalism and then acted in my opinion correctly.
2. However, it was too late and too little to change the narrative as Cong had nothing to show in terms of development and performance. That started the slide of it.
3. Though Cong did yield space in the electorate, it did enjoy power for 10 years in spite of BJP resurgence by opportunistic coalitions.
4. Rahul playing to BJP strengths is appropriate as he has now attempted to confuse the electorate as the perception of minority appeasement is quite strong. It is indeed a not so bad strategy and one needs to wait and watch for the result!!

Gujarat election reality Check for BJP
by chandran siva on Dec 11, 2017 10:32 AM  | Hide replies

There is swift in the people mindset across india. Our PM may be honest and daring had but lack in execution and fails to acknowledge his failure.

Talks about his own agenda, not about the issue/hardship faced by people.

That is where he fails and unnecessary invoked Hindutva which is not required for his stature.

Last couple of weeks BJP campaign only focusing on Rag's religion and aiyar's comment. why are u bothered on his religion and asking rag to announce his religion and his stand on ayodhya.

Why don't you fight the election based on the achievement against promise made when you came to power.

In last 4 years politics has hit the rock bottom.

Dear repeatedly Congress used to ask Modi why he visits only temples not masjids. it is now BJP turn. Why one should have problem with his temple visits ? But if he visits temples mostly in Gujarat that too during election and he visits Maszids dargah/ during UP elections and other parts. congress plays the religion politics.

Will Bihar repeat in Gujarat
by KRISHNAN DAMODARAN on Dec 11, 2017 10:18 AM

BJP is in real trouble in Gujarat that's what the south media says. The body language and tone on PM also reveal the fact. If BJP wont win in Gujarat, 2019 continuation will be a dream for NDA. Stock market would perish , India would be doomed as wished my many. There will be total chaos in the Society. BJP's lose is a gain for those who want to destabilise India.

Temple's are the only gateway towards power.
by Raja on Dec 11, 2017 10:08 AM

History proved again and again that temple's are the only gateway towards power.

Mughal empire foundation lead by Akbar was also based on his realization that if Mughal has to rule upper caste needs to appeased, after that British ruled on the same philosophy.

Even BSP came to power in UP only after Mayawati succeed to convince upper caste saying they will be key driver in her government. But, as soon they(upper caste) pull out their hands after recognizing her buff, BSP become untouchable again.

Congress, left and now BJP ruling because upper caste were with them.

So, whenever temple switches side, power shifts.

Rahul has no choice.
